My tach still doesnt work.. RB20DET ... I am in Germany...

Ok, so I am in Germany for a little while.. and I want to get my tach working once I get home...

I get a signal from pin 7 on the ecu, that increases or decreases based on the revs...

If I connect that wire to the supposed tach wire on the clip where the other wires for the guages are plugged in (temp/start signal coming out to ecu/check engine light input) - as said, If I connect it up, the tach stays dead....

I got another tach from a junkyard, and on the back it has 4 inputs for wires..

2x ground1x power in1x signal in

I tried doing a mock up wiring on it, but still no go...

am I missing something, why wont the needle move, even on the tach that I got separate?

you have a singlecam tach thats your problem.

if u have a single cam tach is there a way u can get it to work or do u have to have a dohc tach? reason y i ask is i have a 89 wit digi hud. do i have to get rid of it or is there a way i can make it work. sorry to thread jack also.
