My sunroof is no longer with us

How f'ing annoying it is to buy a supposedly 'good' car and have to deal with this crap after only 6 months.

My sunroof is completely open and makes a horrible 'grrr' sound when i try to close it so i had to throw a blanket over it, all ghetto, to protect from the frost. Ive had several people look at it, took it to a shop last week...No one can help and now i hate to drive it cause its so damn cold. Has this happened to anyone else?

Ugh, sorry to hear that.

It's kind of hard to diagnose with just a sound. Could be a number of things. My suggestion would be to search for threads with "sunroof" in the topic, specifically in the Maxima, 240sx, and Q45 forums (remember to try searching "archived" threads as well as recent threads). I know the topic has seen pretty good coverage across those three forums, so you may find the help/solution you're looking for among the search results.

I took it to a shop today and it seems the motor gave out. I was told it might be from me driving at high speeds while having it open. when the motor went out, apparantly it took the life of the button that opens it as well, so that has to be replaced also. with the mechanic discount (its my families shop) its gonna be $200 for motor and $150 for the switch.

No there is no warranty and it sucks cause i have no garage and its snowing where i live so i have two thick blankets covering it so the inside of my car can be protected.
