Two days ago I began my sub install in my 2011 G25x (non-Bose). I got an Alpine MRP-M500 amp to power a pioneer ts-sw2501s2 shallow mount 10" sub. The goal of the project is to install the sub in a sealed box using the existing subwoofer in the rear deck.

The amp install went great ran a 4ga wire from the battery to the trunk. Tapped the rear door speaker wires and used the 12v signal to the fm antenna amplifier as my remote on power source.

This is the 12V splice from the antenna amp that will turn on the amp when car is in acc or ignition is on.

I still need to mount the amp.

I'm using the panel that lines the top of the trunk as a mold for a fiberglass enclosure. First I filled it with expanding foam. I will use the foam to shape a complete box that will conform to the shape of the trunk and be hidden under the trunk panel.
I'll post more pics when the enclosure is completed, the deck is sound dampened and everything is complete.

In the mean time does anyone have any suggestions for me. This is my first time installing a sub and I have no idea how it's going to sound. But I figured it was worth a shot.

Looks good so far! Didn't notice it in the pics, but be sure to use a fuse near the battery on the main power lead.

Keep coming with the pics!
