Well here is my sr swap into my 1990 240sx. Here is my car and the motor before the swap...So I had been saving money up and was planning on doing a rb25 swap this up coming summer, but I had two exhaust lifters seize up on me and I had just enough money for an sr swap so I went ahead and did it.Unfortunately it is cold as s**t and do to conflicting schedules between me and my friend whos garage we did the swap in I was only able to work on it about three hours a day so the swap took about a month. lolWell here we go...

My friend jarrett peaces out the ka..

It was a tight squeeze...But with some not so gentle persuasion and some help from jarretts grandpa we got it out..O shazam thats nasty!

We then attempted to clean up the engine bay and scrape the wrinkled paint of the frame rail on the drivers side from discharging the ac.(very toxic and kinda made me want to pass out...)

The sr finally showed up. I ordered it from noyanusa.com They were awesome and I got the motor in 4 business days.

After inspecting the clutch I realized it came with nismo clutch and pressure plate. The stock flywheel was in rough shape though. jarrett cleaned it up with a DA sander. I cant find the other pictures of us getting it in but here it is IN!

The parts then started to com in... 255lph fuel pump... witch was way easier to install then I thought it would be with the exception of taking out my stereo system...

I got my BOV, radiator, electric fan, intercooler, and piping.

The inter cooler was very interesting because I could not take my bumper off because the lip kit is riveted on... So in the front there really is NO stock bumper left its mostly the lip.

We got everything done and clamped down and bolted up...

Then we had to do the timing...

This was a task because neither me or jarrett had worked with a CAS before... But we got it to start first try! When I change the plugs... much to my surprise I found some HKS plugs. unfortunately they were VERY fouled and I put some NGK's in it and that made a huge difference. Well the car still doesn't run right because I need to get a new MAFS and due to christmas and moving into a new apartment I haven't had the money. Yay for 2500rpm's!!!!! If anyone has a sr mafs for sale I would be interested. O and sorry for the picture quality they were all taken on my cell phone...

Well, congrats on the swap. Should have posted this in the RWD-SR forum though, but as for the MAF, you can also use your MAF from your SOHC KA. All you have to do is wire the MAF plug from the KA into the SR harness. The colors of the three wires match up.

Well that sucks. Make a WTB thread asking for an S13 SR or SOHC KA MAF and you should be able to get one quick. GL

Very nice sirrr

How much have you put into it? Including engine/trans?

Now that I'm about to get my car running and I have a fairly steady, good paying job I hope to do this swap but primarily more so the stock side. No BOV or anything.

Again - Looks great man - can't wait to see it running!

The BOV is on the hot pipe... It a greedy rs knock off. $2095 for the motor and transmission I spent about $800 on parts and such... And about $300 on random things needed maybe more. So just be ready to spend about $4k to do it right I got some great deals too. I love you kouki! VERY clean.

4g? Sounds like a good number to start saving for Or take some money from the Credit Union!

You say 800 in parts - Was that 800 in parts needed or 800 for parts that could possibly be damaged in shipping, etc?

And thanks for the comment on the car - Unfortunately I just got rid of the wheels - Its got stockers on it that are going to be bronze, so they won't look too terribly bad

Yeah that was for the stuff needed. I have no tach or gauges or even a power steering line that fits. I love zip ties! I LOVE the stock se wheels. I wish I had five lug hubs....

If you want five lug - We've got a junkyard here in the jackson metro area that has a set of four for your car they are selling for 50 a piece - and thats complete hub assembly - including the wheel bearing housing/assembly and what not.

And they have pressed new OE bearings in all them. Quite a good junkyard if you ask me. Too bad there aren't enough kouki's in the area for them to even act serious when I ask them if they have any.

Me dos. My friend that bought the old 18" wheels (in picture) is the only other person who is into 240's within the jackson metro area.

Greeneville? Anywhere near knoxville/gatlinburg/pigeon forge area? I used to live that way - but never had to go out of town from there. . .

I treated that Ka-e like a baby. I cleaned it all the time. I was very surprised the engine bay was so dirty when I took it out.. I miss my SOHC. After I would beat honda kids they would ask if I had a SR. haha
