Could be the amp. But, I work in IT, and when stuff like this happens...the first step is to reseat all pertinent connections. I still recommend you do it. Something might have gotten jostled. Your unit either dies or doesn't...the fact you had some sporadic issues suggests a loose connection, etc.Twizz wrote:Ilya wrote:Use one of the threads here for installing a GROM or USA Spec to get to the radio and reseat all of the connections. I checked it out and I don't think that will solve the problem. I am getting no sound from the car whatsoever. My phone won't even play sound through the speakers even though it's connected. i am starting to think that my unit is dead. Do you think it could be the Amp ?
Makes sense. I'll take it in to a stereo place. I called them and they immediately said it was the amp. I would love to have it be something was just jostled, but I will also prepare for the worst as well.Ilya wrote:Could be the amp. Depending on what type of system you have, there might not be an amplifier. My system is the base system and the "audio unit" that supplies all of the audio power is the CD player unit. It is very easy to remove. There is a video here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=t6LWZ873S_8Twizz wrote:Makes sense. I'll take it in to a stereo place.
