I would really like to get it wrapped in leather...not sure if there are places that will do that sort of thing.

Some people might not prefer it but I bought a steering wheel cover soon after buying the car to protect it from that sort of thing and it gives me a better feel in my hands. Without it, I feel like there's not enough to hold onto.

You should post a picture for us to see. That might make it easier to notice whats going on and could help determine the cause of the problem.

I'd go to the dealership if this happened after only 20k miles. Steering wheels are not supposed to deteriorate that fast no matter what.

I started having that problem at about 96,000 miles on my first Versa, and it was definitely where I usually have my hands. 20,000 miles does sound too quick. (My second one has the leather-wrapped steering wheel that comes with the convenience package, so I'm hoping it doesn't have the same problem.)

Nah, not really. Mine started at about 30,000 so it isn't too far off. These cheap steering wheels irritate me... It doesn't help when you are trying to sell the car, either.

Yeah if I knew that this sort of thing happens so quick I would of bought a steering wheel cover, even though I do not like them.

I will get a picture up in a day or so.

Not a chance, car is parked underground, I have an 8 inch eye brow/tint on the front window.
