Lol, yeah I red lit on that one, lol. It happens. I'm still not used tot he slicks. I'm really fast off the tree, but with slicks I get out of the whole faster so I'm still adjusting my launch points, lol. Last yeat my best reaction was .002 with an avg of .09 (117 passes). My best that night was a .05.

Lol, 2_Liter_Turbo is my screen name on every other forum besides this one and Z ilvia, lol. I'd change it here, but I don't know if that's possible without losing my post count and "registered since" date. They are MT ET Drag Slicks. Not road worthy. They are really worn though, lol. Wear indicators are practically gone! The steelies are off of a mustang though. I hang with a big mustang crowd in Redding. I'm the little "underdog", lol.

I love picking apart mustangs in my area. I ran a Kenny Belle Charged GT which dynoed 450whp. From 40mph-130mph i beat him by around 4 car lengths.

My buddy Kenny just got his mustang dyno'd ..... 335WHP and 350 lbs of TQ. Compared to my estimated 230WHP and 230 lbs of TQ, lol. So it wasn't too bad

by the way the 180sx vlsd has a similar final drive ratio to the skyline gts-t vlsd...4.36 or 4.4:1

i just got my aem truboost in the mail so i'm anxious to install but i don't know where i'm supposed to get "turbo pressure" from...did you run a hose from the wastegate to the solenoid and then a hose from the tb to the solenoid? it's asking me to run a hose directly from the turbo but i don't see a hose that runs from the turbo...

My setup is that my boost gauge is tee'd off of a vacuum line on the top of the throttle body. This way, it tells me what my engine is seeing, not what my turbo is pushing. My boost controller however basically intercepts a line that goes from my hotpipe to the wastegate controller. Where you install yours is basically how you want to read pressure and what the controller thinks your boosting at. If you install it as close to the turbo as possible, then you will get the pressure your turbo is putting out, but not the pressure that your engine is actually seeing. The best setup IMO is to have two boost gauges, lol. Have the controller and a boost gauge at the turbo side, and another gauge at the intake manifold side. That way you can make sure you don't overboost your turbo, but also know exactly how much pressure loss you are getting throughout your IC plumbing. Hope this all makes sense, lol. Sounds like I'm rambling!

actually it makes perfect sense do you think it's safe for me to boost the same psi as you? everyone keeps telling me to get a wideband so i can monitor if i'm running lean...i'll be running a greddy fmic, k&n filter, walbro fuel pump with the stock 370cc injectors...all my other mods are pretty much drivetrain mods...can i squeeze out 14psi safely without fear of blowing my engine up?

by the way, at what rpm are you launching at? and are you just dropping the clutch or slipping it until you get traction?

With slicks, I drop the clutch at about 6k rpmsWith street tires i drop the clutch but feather the gas starting at about 3200 rpms.

If you want your turbo to last, just set it at 11psi and be happy. (about 9-10 engine side). If you are planning on upgrading within a year, then go for 12 and step it up a little till you hit 14 psi. The thing is, is that the turbo drops back down to 11 psi in the upper rpm's (where detonation is most likely to occur) because it's operating out of its efficiency range. If you were running 14 psi near redline, then I'd worry about detonation.

Sign up on my forum, it's easier to get a hold of me because I check it more often, lol. Link is in my sig....
