Hi there,

I thought I'd register here as in Finland there really is no knowledge of these convertibles what so ever.

Here's a few pics of my long awaited summer car that we had under construction for the past 6 months. The car was supposed to be in use the whole summer, but barely finished it by the time it was supposed to be used in our wedding.

We also have a couple of other daily-driven Nissans as well

great potential, but you're doing it wrong.

front bumper - is overdone... burn it and get a simple vertex style... it'll look better.

rear bumper - is equally corny. overdone.

rear fenders - you put the rear overfender and then put the wheels on.that's backwards.

rear wheels - you can fit 19's on the back... and you should, that will eliminate the wheel gap. and look baller

^ that is sssick.

OP nice cars, and nice vert but I do have to agree with kalipso, the body kit is a little overdone, but great job on the widebody and on a right hand drive vert

Opinions are like ***holes, we all have our own. And this is just the way I wanted my Silvia to turn out.
Kalypso wrote:front bumper - is overdone... burn it and get a simple vertex style... it'll look better.
It used to be, now it's just as I wanted it to be; smooth but something different from all the others in the market that all look the same (vertex, origin etc...)
Kalypso wrote:rear bumper - is equally corny. overdone.

Rear bumper was the best part in this Uras bodykit that was already on the car as it came from Japan.

I had the wheels a year and a half before the car and the rear fenders were streched from 50mm to 150mm per side to match the wheels.

I think I'll just drop the suspension a bit from the back, just havent had time to do it and have been wondering wether to drop it more or not, as I like to drive with the car, not just look at it.

Welcome to Nico. Thanks for posting pictures.

Very cool. I can appreciate the effort.

Feel free to post more pictures of those other cars of yours...

And more widebodies. I've got a thing for unpainted widebodies... I don't know why...

Thanks, Actually the RHD Silvia Vert is the only original model, unlike the 240SX Verts.

Its not a cover, that's how all the non-USDM verts are, we are the only ones with the cover that snaps on like ours do, Japan, Australia, and all of Europe got the snazzy toneau (sp?) made to the car that flips up and hides the top under it.

Thanks!

I do acknowledge the fact myself too and feel very fortunate to be blessed with the chance to be working amongst these cars and in the side experience some work-related continuous carfever.

My life pretty much evolves around these toys and really can't complain. Sometimes of course would be nice to spend money in drinking etc. But that feeling disappears quick after a short cruise

Currentöy installing a GT3071 in my vert along with a Greddy intake manifold and 800cc injectors and a stand alone Engine Management System. Looking to get +400hp out of it so we can really start enjoying next summer

What the hell? How could I miss this post? Wow, full of great cars here. You should submit some pics for vert calendar for sure. Man, I love to visit Finland because of Sonata Arctica, Stratovarius, Nightwish and Warmen...etc.

Gladly, just feel free to ask for better quality pictures if anyone wants to use them somewhere.

Summer 2010 was full of shows and Drifting competitions, but luckily managed to more or less finish the Convertible in a state that it could be introduced to the public.

Also had the car shot for a magazine and here are some amazing photos of it:

Also managed to install the audio equipment during the summer:

And got rid of the "grandpa" look of the interior by spicing it up with a touch of black and white leather/alcantara
Image

As I knew the difficulties of a rear sub in a convertible, I decided to put the subs in the front ;)
10" JL Audio subs and a 2-way 6,5" JL Audio component system seems to be efficient enough for this type of a car.

Main tunes are played by the engine and the screaming back tyres. During the photoshoot it took only 10 minutes to melt the tyres completely ;)

I'll update more story tomorrow, in the meanwhile you can check out photos of the car here: http://peippo.kuvat.fi/kuvat/Nissan+Sil ... nvertible/

Finally got the car working almost at full power.

Trip to the Dyno gave a statement of 370bhp and 410Nm at 1,3bar of boost. We made the maps up to 1,8bar but it would have been unnecessary to use that much daily.

Here's a list of the modifications done to it:

- MRTech Engine Management System, removed the MAF and uses a MAP sensor
- Garrett GT3071 turbo
- 800cc injectors
- Tomei fuel pump
- Stainless header
- Stainless 3" downpipe
- Stainless 3" exhaust
- 50mm Race radiator
- 16” electric fan
- Blitz FMIC
- Trubosmart boost controller
- Blitz dump-valve
- K&N filter
