my sr20 lags, advise please

i just drove my car with the s13 redtop these last few days and it is kind of acting up. it runs alright but not good like i would like it. at idle it maintains a descent idle, but the motor shakes more than it should and when i drive it it sounds like a lawn mower, it almost sounds like its misfiring ant it doesnt seem to have much power. could the timing maybe be off? i also put new spart plugs in, just the basic ngks for a 91 sentra 2.0 liter. please, any advise?

Have you made any changes to the set up and how long have you had the sr in? It could be a number of things. We need more info.

its completely stock with all of the components from the clip. i have had it running about a week and just drove it the last couple days.

what did u gap th spark plugs at?

Don't NGK's come pregapped? I've heard this from many people on may occasions but I still check mine. They have never been wrong though.

have you checked out the maf? Does the car run poorly in boost? perhaps a boost or vaccum leak?

i gapped it at .9 mm i think but they were already there pretty much. i had to extend the mafs wires, maybe i didnt do it right, and i extended the O2 sensor wires. also, i dont know if it would effect it, but i didnt change any transmission sensor except the speed sensor. yes, the car runs poorly under boost, too. it does not pull very hard at all. it reminds me of what my friend's car sounded like when it was misfiring. should i time it, maybe? thanks.

check the timing and try regapping the spark plugs to .028 thats what i did and it fixed my backfiring problems

yeah, one of the plugs was not firing at all, so i just had my mechanic track down where the poor connection was and he fixed it. thanks for asking
