just got the sr20det black top in the car... motor sounds really healthy and strong...i upgraded to a front mount intercooler and down pipe as well as hks blow-off valve and megan racing pipeing and muffler... car is converted to right hand drive so i didnt have too many problems with wiring or ac or anything like that however when i took the car for a test drive it pulls strong right from the start but after about 3000 rpm car sputters and bogs out...friends tell me i need a boost controller but not sure what to think at this point...anyone got any answers?? thanks and sorry if this ?? has been answered before kinda new here

Your friends are very dumb. Do you have DOHC tach? Or are you just guessing its after 3k rpm's?If its at around 2400-2500 RPM's that its bogging then it your mafs, and your ecu is probably in fail safe mode now. Easy fixes. I have a mafs if you want it.If its after 3k rpm's the it definitely a bad boost leak. Check your couplings and BOV.

yeah i had a coupling come loose and my car wouldn't rev past 3k. Make sure there tighten down good. But that was just my problem.

ok so i tighten up all my couplings turns out one of them was loose but when i tested the car again the problem was still there. my boost was like at 12 psi on a stock sr20 so i put a cheap boost controller from ebay and lowered the boost to 6 psi and the car now runs like a champ.... still the info is very much appreciated thanks for ur help

Probably leaking under the higher amounts of pressure. Possibly old and semi torn couplings?
