Well this weekend I went to Virginia Beach to a drifting practice. I checked over the car made sure it had oil, coolant, ect. before i drifted. I went through about 2 good drift sessions and my oil dipstick popped out and oil went EVERYWHERE. I had been havin a problem with excess amounts of oil in my catch can, but I didnt think anything of it. Well, apartently it was a problem, a compression ring. So i put more oil in it and when i left the drifting event, KNOCK KNOCK KNOCK, who is there?? SPUN BEARING. So i had to get my car towed 4 hours back home, it was a bad weekend. So what i came up with a new formula:

bad compression ring = loss of oil in bottom endloss of oil in bottom end = spun bearingbad compression ring + spun bearing = BLOWED UP SR

no more drifting for a while, but i found a long block for $700, is that a good price or should I just rebuild my current SR? Im on a tight budget. Any suggestions are appreciated.

if you want to keep it stock, just buy the good bottom end assuming it has/had good compression. if you are gonna build the engine eventually, just take yours apart and apply for a credit card to buy lots-o-new parts.

Didn't you hear that debt is the cool new trend... everybodies doing it!!!

I agree with SR, if the bottom end is in good condition I would say go with it. If you can swing it the right way, you can use this opportunity to build up your engine

I would say its deal huntin time...
