i have the same problem, and when i hit the damn dash, sometimes it works, sometimes, it doesn't...i think there is a short around somewhere behind the dash...I'm hoping one of these techs will help us out.

I know on my car, the speedo would read double the actual speed...I guess it could be the speed sensor or the way it was wired up since it used to be an auto. Any ideas?

On a related note, if anyone could tell me how to go about putting an aftermarket speedo in. Can I just buy an Autometer Electronic Speedo and use the stock speed sensor, or would I have to replace it with an Autometer unit. If I wanted to go Mechanical....how would I go about doing that?
