I just completed a 5 speed swap on my 91 hatch and now my speedometer is not working, someone told me it probably was the vss sensor or wiring but im not sure what that is or where it is located, the only wiring i did on the car was to get it to start.

your speed sensor is at the very back of your transmission on the passenger side, not 100% sure about the ka transmission but i think its the same. it should be a circular knob sticking out held on by 1, 10mm bolt. THe wire coming out of it will go towards the firewall and you can detach this wire about half way where there is a connector. But like i said im not 100% sure about your transmission

its easy.. just take all the panels down.. then there are two bolts for the steering colum then three for the cluster and then just make sure the miles dont get messed up and ur good to go.

mine was never converted..just a stock single cam 5 speed and the trip/tach keeps going off and on at random..rpms and temp always workill probably have to see if i can find a "replacement gauge" when i put in this dual cam so i can reset the miles anyways

idk i would check the vss first and then find a way to check the cluster.. i doubt you would want to buy parts for no reason. im not sure about the specs.. can anyone help?as for "slidingsidewayz240" i did a auto to 5speed swap on mine and that pretty much ruled out the vss for me. because it was doing the same thing with both trannys. so i changed the gauge=problem solved

mine on my 93 (which i completed this weekend) i just plugged into the sensor with the same plug that was used on the auto speed sensor, mine took a bit of pushing to finally get it to click tight but it works just fine, my only prob is the back-up lights, which i think i just need a new sensor for that
