my speedometer is funky....i need help..

my speedomoter is crazy....it would be ok while im driving around for a while....but then all of a sudden, it would jump all the way up past the 110mph limit....im guessing its either the speed sensor on the transmission or the actual gauge.....anyone know about this problem???

well my speedo is totally dead, doesnt move at all, along w/ my tach and odometer. I think i just need an SR , and yes, its the plug on the transmission tahts loose probably, my friends eclipse did that and he said he fixed the plug on his transmission and it worked fine after. Id be willing to bet its either taht or a speedo sensor
