My Speedo doesnt work!

Hey i am about to put insurance on my 240 but my speedo doesnt work. Im not going to be able to see my car untill this weekend and want to be semi-prepared to fix this issue. Can you guys give me an idea what can be causing the problem?!?!?!?!

could be the speed sensor in the transmission, could be wiring issues between the speed sensor and the speedo, and could be a speedo problem

i'm having the same problem... i just bought my car and the guy i got it from said he replaced the wiring cluster and the sensor looks new... not sure though. the speedo jumps all around from 0 - off the chart or it will stick at 43mph. any tips would be helpful! thanks!

check wirining, maybe some problems in contacts.
