my speedo doesnt work and i dont know why

i jsut got an 89 240sx and the guy i boght it form said he pulled the fuse on the speedo because he almost killed himself looking at the heads up while conering. i checked all the fuses under the driver kick pannel and found nothing. any help would be greatthanks, tom

sound like he just gave you some bull@#$% because there is no fuse just for the heads up display and digi speedo. oh and the heads up display can be shut off when wanted by pressing in the km/mph adjuster on the cluster. is the digital speedo not displaying anything? if not then it might be able to be repaired but i couldnt repair mine so it looks like i will have to buy a good used one.

for now get used to using the tach and gears to measure speed.

Yeah sounds like a story, your VSS (vehicle speed sensor) is probably fubar'd, either that or someone didn't do your wiring correctly. First check the wiring, then have at the sensor.
