My Sirius Radio is telling me to call an 800 number!!

I bought my car used about 2 months ago. Why am I getting a prompt to call an 800 number when i try to use SR?

Please dont tell me I need to purchase a contract?

Yes, seeing as how the service isn't free to anyone, you do need to contact them.
