I recently had a quarter window leak that ruined my original panels. When I made them the first time I didn't know what clearances for the push rivets and the like were needed. My second set I painted on both sides with lacquer, set the subs as far back as possible and trimmed the panels a bit smaller. The panel 3/4" MDF. I had to shave a strip of wood to fill in the very top that angles back. I used 2 Liter coke tops sealed to the body for where the plastic rivets pass-through. I then covered them with Second Skin damplifier for more of a seal.

I used more Second Skin Damplifer and caulking to seal the inner cavity and panel to the body. It's not a boomer as the subs aren't designed for that and on the low price end, but I was more concerned with keeping my trunk space and the weight down. I am sure if I put in L7's and dropped $1000 on some subs/amp I'd be jamming It's good for my needs.

The knobs on those speaker terminal cups tend to vibrate loose so if you're going to put the factory panel back in place, better to connect the sub directly to the speaker wire.

Looks good, I am getting ready to do the exact same thing. Are those 10" or 12" and why is the image dynamics logo missing?

Thanks!

EDIT; after installing 12"s those were obviously 10s in your photos.
