my short throw shifter

when i bought my sr 240 last week the guy said it had transmission problems and last nite i checked the shifter and its not even bolted down. so i was wondering if i could use the ka shifter or is there a gasket to buy to prevent all of my syncromesh from flying out of the transmission?

You can use any KA, RB, CA, etc. shifter.
