my "service engine soon light" has come on . The car runs just fine . I have 120000 miles on the car and the day before the light came on I added some slick 50 to my oil . I also used lower octane fuel the last time I filled up . Could the slick 50 and fuel cause the ses light to come on ? I was thinking of resetting the light but I have no clue where to find the ecu .

Well, aren't you concerned that a OBD II system told you there is a problem?

Which fuel does your OM recommend?

Hope you are changing your oil and filter very soon. Only recommended crankcase additive on this board is BG MOA.

Hey . Thanks for the reply . Yes Im worried but Id like to get the codes myself . I do not have a owners manual but I used mid grade unleaded ... I have the oil changed about every 2500 - 3000 miles . Ill use the MOA next oil change ... As I said before the car runs great so I hope its nothing too bad.

Owner's manual is free at

http://www.nissan-techinfo/infiniti/

For a one day subscription, you can download FSM and TSB also.

Free FSM may be available at

http://www.nicoclub.com/FSM/

Bet your OM says premium.

Good OBD II scanners with memory are only about $200 and are a good investmetn if you are going to own any OBD II (post 1995) cars.

You can also go to http://www.phatg20.net to download your factory service manual. That will tell you how to pull codes the old fashioned way... turn the screw on the ECU and count the flashes. It will also tell you where to find it.

Good luck!
