I'm not sure if anyone remembers me or not, but I posted a topic last year about my 92' chuki I was going to attempt at restoring it, long story short; I ended up selling it sometime after I made that thread, lol.

Anyways, last week I picked up another chuki for $200 bucks, runs and drives great. I couldn't ask for a better car for 200 bucks, brand new Michelin tires on it, new pads, tune up just done. There really wasn't anything wrong with it besides a few minor things I've already fixed. When I got it, it needed a slave cylinder and ignition coil. I had the parts in my garage from my last 240 so it wasn't a big deal, I put the parts on, bled the clutch and drove it home. Check it out:

Everything is original, nothing is done to the car. It has some cool interior things my other didn't like a sunroof cover, hatch tonneau cover, a case for the sunroof glass and some other nick-nacks. It has some frame rust, nothing too bad, I plan to fix that this winter. I'm thinking of doing a SR20VE n/a for something different. What do you guys think? What would you guys do with the car if you had it? I need some ideas!

I haven't driven an all motor SR but I would do that swap to a fun daily. I have heard only good things from the couple people who have done the swap.

But also I wouldn't ditch a fine running stock motor, just turbo it if you want more power.

I forgot to mention, I have this in my garage I'm going to swap on it. I kept it off my last one

I'm going to paint and swap it this weekend. Here are a couple more randomness pictures:

According to wakopedia, the 2001+ SR20VE made 204hp at the flywheel, that would be like 186 or something at the wheels. I think that would be fun to play in, I'm not into racing or drag, I just like to have a little fun every now and then and this car is just damn slow compared to my GS-T. I also wanna do something a little different but I've always liked the SR engines.

I'm not sure I'd trust my KA if I put a turbo on it. I have a Borgwarner RHC6 and a mitsu 14B, I could always slap one on and see what happens I guess.

please, peel off the electrical tape trim and also take off the gay fender arch covers. 200 bucks is an awesome deal, good luck!

The VE motors never came in RWD, only FWD, and converting your DE head to a VE isn't really worth the time and money IMO, unless you have larger hp goals in mind...

and yes AWESOME pickup for the money...

So are you are a DSMer? Looks like a 2g and maybe a couple 1g's?

nm saw you mention the gst

Yeah just got a slow coupe to trade out for my quick GS-t. Really like the 4g63 now.

Almost want to keep it but I'm not that into three point turns.

What turbo is your GS-t running?

I noticed that but I figured it would be possible to swap intake manifolds and put a SR RWD transmission on it and I'd be good to go.

My first car was a 240sx, I then got my 2g for $700. When I got the car the motor spun a rod bearing so I put a new motor in. I've learned how to work on the 4G63 inside and out, very awesome motor. I love em, a lot of my friends have me work on their DSMs, right now I have two of my friends 1G's here and my brothers 1G. It's all I've been working on for the past two years, not a bad hobby either. It pays, lol.

Mine runs absolutely pristine. It's still running the stock turbo that came on the motor. The motor came out of a Mitsu RVR so it has a weird JDM TD05HL, about the size of a 14b. The only thing done to it are some small bolts on, balance shafts eliminated, greddy rz bov, tockico illuminas and some other things. It's my DD right now so I don't mess with it too much unless I have to.

Are you into DSMs at all?

Coilovers. Wheels that fit. That's all. I'd daily drive it.

If it's your daily driver you don't need to upgrade anything else, heck you don't even have to get coils and wheels, that's just for looks.

Unless you are tracking it, you don't need bigger brakes unless you want to be able to stop at stop signs faster.

No you can't put on a rwd intake manifold and transmission and call it a day.

A RWD transmission will not fit on a FWD motor...

apples and oranges. You CAN swap the heads but like I said, not really worth it unless huge hp numbers are your goal. A normal SR is easily good enough to produce the power goals you desire, and then some...

I'm not really into DSMs but have mad respect for the 4G63, now.

I traded my first car for the GS-t and I have put some money to get it running right, but the stock t25 is such a limiting factor to the motor.

I am trying to sell it, so I can just focus on my nissans. I like the GS-t but it can't turn left to save its life.

Small update: I haven't really done a whole lot since I bought the car. I removed the timing chain guides to kill that annoying rattle, I sold the white hatch I had instead of putting it on my car, I'm in the process of repairing the one on my car. I'm going to use fiberglass sheets+resin and duraglass, hopefully it turns out pretty good. I kept this hatch because the other one didn't have the heating element for the defroster + I love my rear wiper.

I pulled off the spoiler and the rust doesn't look that bad, I'll post pictures before I start cutting it out.

I haven't been driving it because the fuel pump went out, replaced that tonight. I drove it around and had some fun in the snow, god I love this car. I'm also in the process of painting the valve cover and polishing the letters. Here is a picture of the first coat of paint, still have to polish the letters and clear.

After I finish with the hatch, I'm in need of a new transmission mount. Does anyone have any suggestions on what to get? Solid? Urethane? Stock? I'm leaning towards polyurethane.

I'm going to use a cutting wheel and cut out the rust and some, so rust shouldn't come back as long as I seal it.

LSD is on the top of my list of upgrades I wanna do, I was watching a VLSD rear end out of a 180sx on ebay, forgot to bid on it and it went for 300 shipped. I'm pretty pissed about that.

lol, chuki > pignose :P

I get that a lot, lol.

I finished polishing the valve cover letters, now I just gotta wait a couple days to lay the clear coat. I hate waiting. Check it out:

You can see the reflection of the plant blade in the letter S. I'm pretty proud of this, it's my first valve cover.

Not much of an update, it's too damn cold outside to do anything but I did manage to get a new hatch on and wired up. I picked it up for 100 from forced Fab in Dayton, check it out:

I've been doing maintenance and such too, nothing to get excited about though.

Ok, so I've decided the fate of the 240. My first goal is to complete all maintenance work, second is to turbo it, third is to fix the body.

I'm going to list everything I do to the car and price it cost just for s***s and keep in mind I've been driving this car since October 09 almost every day. I did an oil change the first day I brought it home and haven't done one since. It's time to do one here soon, the odometer reads 234,000

My goal is 210whp, Dyno proven. I think this is a very realistic goal and will result in a fun yet reliable daily driver.

The List:Vehicle Cost - $200

Planned maintenance -Oil Change Brake Rotors and Pads (Stock Rotors and Hawk Pads)High Pressure Power Steering line (Mine has a small leak)OEM Timing Chain Kit

Completed Maintenance - Clutch Slave Cylinder - $37.00Ignition coil - free (extra in garage)Rust Free hatch - $100.00Nismo transmission mount - $59.002x Tie rod ends - $67.98 (Ouch, really needed them though so had to buy from advanced)

Turbo project parts - Borg Warner GM-5 Turbo - Free from friendTcc works universal bov - $5 (From brother, exhange for the cost of a pack of smokes)

Misc - doesn't count in grand totalJVC Headunit - Free, stole from my Eclipse4x Pioneer 3-way speakers - $49.00 Antenna mast - $20

Grand Total - 468.98
