.... so far is fruitless. But I have been reading that you really don't need to upgrade the pressure plate until about 270hp, I don't plan on going near that number. If I can put 200-225 to the wheels, I will be happy.

So, I guess I can inspect, measure, spec out my stock pressure plate and just upgrade the disk from a KA24DE to something a bit more sturdy? Norris Design's sell's the whole clutch kit, but will be hella expensive with import taxes and also overseas shipping, plus I don't have the time to wait four months for a clutch from Japan.

Anyone running the stock pressure plate with an upgraded disk?

Joe

ACT and Centerforce both make a CA18 clutch kit, centerforce dual friction would be good if your wanting to do some auto-x or any other sort of racing, really...

I was, but then again I only drove it around the block...once...on 3 cylinders...with metal chunks in my engine and a seized turbo...

so don't take my word for it...I used a stock CA pressure plate and an upgraded KA disk...seemed to work fine for all of 5 minutes.

Can I get a part number to cross reference with?

Joe

Also, I checked on the ACT website... no application listing for a RWD CA18DET, but they do have them for an SR20DET. Guess I am going to have to make a few phone calls.

you don't need a RWD CA to make it fit, the stanza is FWD, so is the Pulsar,

the pulsar and stanza are front wheel drive, but the pulsar does not use the same clutch. the stanza for some unknown reason does. i havent been able to finda performance clutch for an 86 stanza unfortunately.

don't get the centerforce dual friction. I have it and its pretty crappy, doesn't grab nearly as hard as I was lead to believe. Oh well, live an learn. If you have a little extra money to spend I would go with a SR flywheel and clutch since they are much more readily available and there are many more options stateside to choose from.

maybe i have a 4puck and its rather a PIA but i like it and if i had one even stiffer i would still like it ! just dont let people get up too close to you on a big hill and dont get to close up to peoples rears ! they like to be jumpy and harder to control
