Not a whole lot of luck with the search button. So I'm posting.

It's a stock (for the most part) S14 SR20. Only mods are the HKS wastegate on the T28. Stock FPR, stock fuel pump in the car, stock injectors. But runs really rich. Black clouds out of the exhaust kind of rich. I un plugged the MAF and it runs the same so I know it's not the MAF. I'm wondering if maybe it's my O2 Sensor, I did extend it and maybe for some stupid reason I got the wiring wrong. Any other ideas would be appreciated.

Thanks.

Check your ECU for codes first. Did you happen to use wire shielding wrap when you extended your MAF?

Oh and check out this link if you haven't already.

Ecu isn't throwing codes, and yes I used the shielded wire for the MAF.

there is no need to use shielded wire unless you run close to anything with high current which may cause interference. only place this can happen in the harness is where all wires come together or if you run your maf wire right near alternator.

its not a bad idea but does not serve a purpose. if you end up doing it don't forget to ground ONE end of the shielding.

O2 Sensor will not cause youe Engine to run retared rich, O2 Sensor is only used under 1500RPM's

Check grounds and for Vacuum/Boost leaks

Well it turns out that I had the MAF wiring wrong, thanks to someone who messed with it previously. But the problem still persists. Still running rich, I unplug the MAF and it gets a little better. I'm thinking it may be the MAF. Any help would be appreciated.

what MAF are you using?

SOHC MAF's and Red Top MAF's are not compatiable with S14 Engines

that is more than likely your problem. you need an s14 sr20 maf

part number.

22680 69f00 if you have a square plug 22680 69f01 if you have a round plug

Thats your problem S14's cannot use KA24E MAF's either need an S14 MAF for your engine year model or an N62 with an SAFC

screw...I'm pissed now. I guess I'll go ahead and get a Z32 maf because I have a SAFC. Thanks alot guys for the help. It does run alot better with the MAF unplugged.
