Hey fellow 240 bros. I think this makes my 3rd topic post…sad. I been here for about 2 years. ANYWAY, me being in Dallas, having a recently new S13 Blacktop SR dropped in, having a huge intercooler blocking a lot of air, and of course making use of my AC, my car gets FREAKING hot! 210-220 range just sitting there in traffic every day to/from work. I followed the majority of the write-up (nicely done by rico05) changing my cooler size/location, and a few connectors. Also, adding oil temp and oil pressure sending units on the blue sandwich plate. Also, no thermo for me in Dallas, I don’t believe that’s going to be an issue, if it becomes on next January, I may address it then.

Feedback/comments/thoughts and opinions are welcome during this. I will still post my feedback when its all said and done as well.

Here are some pics from today. This will begin tonight when the sun goes down, and I hope to complete it this weekend.

For You VISUAL ONES:

For the hell of it, just cleaned up my trunk battery relocation, carpet, and mounted my dual 8 JLs nicely. Also converted my wood carputer base to plexi (I have much more pics of that):

cool man lookin pretty sharp. slam that front end on the ground would be my only critique. as for the oil cooler, im using a greddy 10 row w/ filter relocation. i think an oil cooler is like the only way to go if u plan on havin any significant amount of power and it keeps things in check thats for sure. is that a little fan u have there for it?

Yea, my front IS on the ground now actually, I have KYB AGX's on Ground Control sleeves, and I AM A FAN of them. Im on my 3rd bumper sadly, I have CRUNCHED 2 now. My friends make fun of me. Each bumper has its excuse/story, lol.

The Fan, yes, These are sold as NASCAR brake fans that push out 350 CFM. This thing could fly if I put wings on it. It REALLY surprised me on how powerful it is for its size, geez. Im gona definitely be using that tied into a relay from the AC button.

Like the idea of the fan. also complete an fittings. what did that whole set up run you? Only one critique, Get those amps flush mounted on the shelf and the subs in the floor. Battery is clean, stereo should be too.

I had just let this thread die. Only 1 person commented at the time until now, lol. It was overall a success. In my opinion, if your not seeing ~200ish degrees F regular engine temperatures, its not worth the effort, (potential) risk, or money. Its all about location. I still hate 100 degree days, as does my poor KA AC on the SR.

Its definitely functional, it made a dent by about 15-20 degree F. Changing oil is waaay showoff though, just too easy with the topside filter.

Thanks. It was almost 400 in the end. The fans actually let me down. 350cfm a PIECE, and honestly, it makes about 5 degrees F difference when they are on. They’re loud, and a power hog, so I rarely even flip that switch. The amps are solid though, and sitting on thick plexi, its a nice look, and air can get all around it to cool it. Its really a good arrangement.

Man, its a pretty big deal, and took me really like over 8 hours of work total to make it STOP leaking in various spots. I was cussing at every drip until everything finally acted right. Its one of those things you have to fab in the garage, and wig-out on until its all over.
