its a 95, blown piston rings, rice body kit, some dings and dents... you know the deal. picked it up for 1200. It is sitting in my friends garage, we got it last night around 11 o clock and of course we started to tear things apart right away. i will need LOTS AND LOTS of help from you guys. feedback please! first order of business with this thing is to take all the crap off of it, get breaks and get a sr20 from a s14.

What i would like to see by the summer is an up and running sr20 with some of the body fixed. I would be pleased with a bone stock sr, it has 'coilovers' on it already, but i need to tear it down to see what they really look like. ill get pics of that tonight. Plans for the future with the car is around 350 wheel, set up more for handling, but with give for drift. Just looking for a fun, well rounded car.

doesnt look all too bad all things considered. deff check those coilovers and see if they are worth your time...if they are some ebay sleeves or somthing toss'em and get new ones.
if you are having to do brakes anyway may want to go ahead and convert to 5 lug but its not a necessity.
also i know you are planning a sr20 but have you looked into a ka-t ? im not sure the total condition of the ka you have now so i dunno whatll be more cost effective in the long run.
anyhoo, good luck with the rebuild TSKY

Piston rings are shot. Oil smells like gas. Clutch is FUBAR for unknown reason still. plus i would like the sr for room to move up. I am talking to someone right now about the 5 lug conversion. How much does the swap usually cost?

look's good, just wanted to jump in on the SR vs KA. seeing as i have been through this for the past month or 2, bang for your buck i would say KA all the way. the thing about it is for the money you are putting into getting the SR and putting it in your car you could have a built bad a$$ KA that walks on a stock SR....

just my .02 good luck with whatever you do.

NIce find! She looks almost exactly like mine minus the pen15 sticker on the back LMAO.
I say stock SR for DD the s14, and rebuild the KA for the s13 you will end up buying later. Cuz you know you will.

Yeah i was you a month ago. I decided i wanted the SR in the s14, give it a good stance, and making "eat off of " clean for DD. I was just gonna scrap the ka. But then i got the car buying itch so now im looking for an s13, while i rebuild the ka on my back porch <(wife not happy bout that). Good luck with whatever you decide!! Keep us posted.

350 whp SR is a budget build huh :ohno:

I think that would cost at least 3g's for power upgrades alone. I'd start off with a stock S14 SR and go from there, they run about $2k and should be pretty straight forward / reliable. KA is great and I'm going to actually "budget-build" the crap out of my N/A, but I don't think I'd recommend building one for 350whp on a budget. Way more risk here and will most likely cost more in the short/long than just throwing a nice SR in there.

I kind of like the red trim in there, but not enough to do it to my car.

The 'budget' part just means it will take a long time to finish... itll be a stock sr for quite some time. thanks for all of the posts guise.

Yesterday i met up with Neil (i dont remember his name on here) and picked up a rad support, SE wheels, 5 lug hubs/brakes, front cross drilled and slotted brakes nib, and he threw in some extra stuffs  hes a cool dude. ill get pics of that stuff sometime this week. next tiny step, we need to get the rest of the coolant out of the drain pan, then its on to removing the AC, putting on the 5 lugs, removing some more random wires, and pulling the motor. its effing cold and that garage has no heat, so work time is usually only about an hour to three hours when we are there. and when i say we i mean my friends who went/go to some sort of mechanic-y school.
