my s13 will not rev pass 5000 rpm.......help

it seems like no shop seems to know the problem....i have a 240sx ka24e 5speed and it will not rev pass 5000rpmi even had a mechanic duech tell me that it should not pass 5000 but i know that this car diddose anybody have sugestions

is it bouncing off the rev limiter?

my old dohc used to do this too i had some people tell me it was my mafs i tried cleaning it but it didnt help so i sold it it kinda takes the fun out of driving a 240 but you might want to try cleaning or just getting a new one

it's most likely your 5th gear sensor is bad - car always thinks it's in 5th gear = 5k rev limit.

If you search, it lists a few ways to do it. I believe the easiest way to test is to unplug the sensor - to find out which sensor you need, look for "factory service manual" on here - or search for "rev limit", lots of posts regarding it.
