thx guysNot much of an update. Just extended the o2 sensor. I dont want to solder the chassis wires yet. I'll just twist and tape when the motor is in. Wanna make sure it starts first.

Great thread! I hope no one asked already, but what size tires did you have on the stock wheels on the rear of your car in the the side shot on the first page (the one where the body kit was installed but not painted)?

Lol, too big.. haha. 215/65/15's Reminds me of drag radials...

And as for the stock motor mounts? Brackets and puck? total.. no more than 5 lbs.

UPDATEWow, I couldn't have scored better than 200 bucks for complete brake upgrades. Front NA Calipers/Rotors, Rear Calipers/Rotors, complete rear setup (ebrake, dust shield, knuckle and hubs!) Awwww man was i stoked..

[QUOTE=818motorTREND;1025047]Nice come up dood :tongue:

Hey thanks again everyone. Oh and i might need a caliper rebuild kit soon! I'll let you know!

but yea, definitely did good with the z32 conversion. Now what color should i paint them... gold, red or black???

Anyways, got some news. Remember when i said the wheels that my dad was giving me were 18x9's. They arent. They're 18x9.5's! lol. So im trying to figure out the offset...The rim width is 9.5 inches. So the center mark would be at 4.75 inches. Well... the measurment from the hub to the inside rim is a little less that 5 inches. So a difference of about less that .25 from center. Well... .25 = 6.35mm. Sooo since its a little less that .25 that should be 5mm! So +5 offset???? I could be really off here, but i dont care. i know its a lower offset that +40 haha

Trying to figure out if the bracket weighs less than the GTR's. You selling them?

ive NEVER and i mean NEVER had ANY issues with QUALITY (scotch/3m super series or plymouth) e-tape on ANY wiring ive done, due to it being tape over heatshrink.

have YOU had issues?

good tape has high heat/cold resistance and will NOT cause issues.

sorry, its a pet peeve when people talk out of their asses

Yea, i never had issues with using electrical tape either. I thought thats why that called it "electrical" tape. But i guess it wouldnt hurt. But yeah, its funny how people tend to offer advice. Doucher style

true, if anything, my experience has been that when the 3M stuff gets hot its adhesion increases. The hole piece seems to meld together into on sticky impossible to remove mess

I don't use tape directly on a connection like he did. And yes, good 3M tape is preferred when you are making harnesses, but only when holding wires together, not for splicing.

I do not speak from my as$, good sir, I speak from working in the Local 26th chapter for years and years. You may think that adhesion increases as it gets hotter, but it's actually slowly melting away from the point of contact. Give it a few times and it will short. But maybe you guys are just going for the mickey mouse haul anyway.

SO SORRY I tried to help, you damn ungrateful so and so.

i never claimed adhesion increased under any condition. what harness is so close to such extreme heat that this will occur?

besides, if you are splicing correctly, you stagger the splices so that IF anything were to poke thru the tape/shrink, it wont touch anything, and that its inside a loom.

26th chapter? of what? wire splicing?

The union, dingus. IBEW.

Vinyl tape is not for splicing. It doesn't have the right kind of thermal dispersion for that.

Not a big rb20 kind of guy myself but i'm liking this one a bit. That electrical tape on the connections will be just fine, as long as it's not that 25 cent a roll wal-mart stuff. And if you're really worried about it coming off slap a small ziptie around the connections, and loom it.
