the supra days.
*sigh*
had an 86.5 myself.
bought it for 400 bucks non-running,
running after 600,
and sold for 1000.

every now and then i think about what it could've been had i kept it and put money into it.
it had a super straight body on it and the interior (minus the seats) was in amazing shape.
ahh well.
haha

anywayzzz
the car sounds awesome man!
looks good too!
are you gonna keep it black or go with a different color if/when it gets a paint job?

That is why I plan on keeping my Supra even after putting the RB in my 240SX. I believe I should have a picture of it, let me look.

Propellor? You mean the yolk on the back of the gearbox? Did you do anything timing related to your RB20? Waterpump, pulleys and gaskets? How does the RB20 pull, if it is pretty good, then I will do that instead of a RB25 and bolt on a huge spoolable turbo.

Car was sold to my dads good friend. I loved the car but at the time wanted a newer car. I made min wage back then so having two cars was just out of reach. But yea, wish i still had it. Spent all my money on her. Down to the custom paint job. I had older Supra enthusiast giving me props. They obviously didnt like the wing, but be fair and judge me on the curve system... this was around the time when aluminum wings were the first mod installed on stock 4 door 90's civics, altezza lights were all the craze and the vader body kit was legit. lol, i hated all that stuff when everyone loved it.

Propeller = Old school version of saying drive shaft, AKA Propeller Shaft (my dad got me calling it that lol) I changed out the water pump, and kept most everything like the pulley and timing belt. Didnt really feel a need to change it all out when everything was still in ok condition. I was very surprised. Compression, belt condition etc. There was a mileage chart on the receipt as well as a sticker on the motor saying 44,000KM on it. Roughly about 27,000 miles. Normally i'd be skeptical but when i did a dry/cold compression check there was only less than a drop of 10 psi all across. So i wouldn't doubt it.

As for the RB pulling? Trust me, it pulls... I dont really have anything to judge it in comparison to an rb25 but compared to my Sti and my previous swaps. (ca18 s13, and the ma70 7mgte). I'm beyond content. And to think i havent done anything fuel wise besides a walbro 255. So when i upgrade the injectors, fpr (coming in the mail right now) and get some type of electronic tuning... she'll rip for sure.

As for paint Seanzyyy, i think im gonna just paint it all black. Once i get my rear 30mm overfenders and lip test mounted.

Ok, nice. Where did you get your engine? So you just changed the waterpump, thermostat and the turbo with a CXRacing replacement?

Just called Jarco and they said they don't import any longer....over 2 and a half years. WTF!?

How would I know it is a Skyline RB20 or a A31 RB20?

Looks like this thread is dead now since CA is not answering anything. Can't really blame him, who wouldn't want to be enjoying an RB20.

well i also had a mk3 supra(actually 2 of them) i hate the 7mgte. it was a waste. and i should had went 1jz(like iam going to do with my sc400).

hey ca. are you using wheel spacers?? i just installed my z32 fronts(meaning yesterday) and the g35(sedan) wheels will not clear the fronts.. i didn't do the backs(yet). iam pullling my engine and doing my seals clutch and timing belt. i also picked up a n1 oil pump.

Very true... enjoying it is an understatement! Sorry for the dormant build thread. Not a whole lot goin on besides soaking in the fruits of my labor! But here's a small update.

Haha, So did the first flush of the transmission fluid and motor oil. For the transmission gear oil, i went with Redline's Shockproof lightweight. Expensive stuff, but well worth it. 1st to 2nd is a lot cleaner now. Even with my short throw. Loving it
Image
I was contemplating whether i should just prep the entire car instead of just painting the front black. I still dont have my rear over fenders nor do i have the money for wheels w/ crazy fitment. So i just did the front to get me by. I'm tired of the 4 diff colors on my car

And, pre cut and buff

Overall, im content. I want to see what it looks after i wet sand and polish it. That will come tomorrow.

I also have a blitz turbo timer coming in, as well as an SAFC. I kno i kno, but for 40 bucks why not!? haha

Hey Man I am also have an rb20det in my s13 and right now I am having some issues with the power steering return hose, Did you just right yours wright form the power steering rack to the reserver like straight line or did your cross over to the passenger side and then back to the drivers side into the reserver? Could you take a closer pic if that if you can?

hey ca. i noticed you switched out youre wheels for some z32 stockers(iam looking for some as we speak) my 17"s (from a g35 coupe) won't allow the front wheels to turn. what size tires do you have on the front?? as i used the same hub/brake setup you did with the stock suspension height..

also check out my build.. iam done but haven't uploaded everything yet(done minus the wheel tire issue and a whine in my diff).

I read your thread, it says you have spacers? I have 5mm spacers all around and clear everything. Tires i thing are 225/60's

Thanks bro, that paint you saw was even before cut and buff. I have a few pics, but were from my camera phone. You can def. tell the difference.

I had to use and modify the original ps line from the r32. My swap came with it attatch to the ps reservoir so i was lucky. But i ran the return over my intake pipe and under my boost pipes. Hard to get it in pics, but tried my best

Not sure, came with the car lol. Its the AE86 Tofu brand haha

Ok, here are some updates. First, camera phone pics of cut and buff process...

Wet sanded with 1000 grit ... i kno i kno.. should have used 2000 but i was too lazy to go to the store. Had 1000 laying around

Next, used some 3M rubbing compound. Went over it twice
Image

Aaaand after Polish... Remember, camera phone pics... looks a lot better in person

Ok, So did a few more things today. Remember that SAFC that i was getting? Well good news is that it works (seller wasnt sure and couldnt hook it up cause he didnt have the sub harness), but pretty scuffed up. But for 40 bucks you can flame me all you want for gettin an safc lol. Took it apart, and painted it low gloss black... looks a lot better

Image
Image
Even took some 3M polishing compound and removed a lot, almost all of the scratches
Image
Legit
Image
Also got a brand new blitz turbo timer/digital boost gauge from someone local for 60 bucks.. steeeeal
Image
So, here's the setup so far. SAFC hooked up correctly, runs perfect. (no tune yet obviously) Turbo timer installed and i'll be ordering two more gauges for the vent and we're good (fuel pressure and oil pressure).

Stay tuned folks...

Yea, atleast 5mm to clear the strut. Tires comes real close. But yea, more updates later. HID's came in the mail as well as local find. Wingless trunk with Silvia trunk lock. Looks nice. Here's a pic from my point and shoot camera... before HID install

Thanks man, more updates!

Ok, So first thing... as many of you know, brick headlights are legit. In my opinion, cleanest compared to duals and triples (again imo). But when I drive at night, i feel like a MAG flashlight could light up the road better. So I upgraded to 6k hids and I can finally see. Need to upgrade the corners with some LED bulbs.

Oh, and you all remember that red lip i got a while back... well quick prep, flat black'd and installed. Seriously looks 10X better. Presence goes up 5pts

Love it...
Oh, and here's a pic of the JDM tight Silvia Key Hide on a wingless trunk

Probably going to prep that soon as well, wondering if i should go wingless. I was also thinking of picking up an r32 wing and slapping it on there. We'll see. Till next time Stay classy Nico

I'm pretty sure I have n/a wheels. The only difference is that the TT wheels had 16X8.5 rears and 16X7.5 fronts. And on N/A wheels it was 16X7.5 all around. And i didnt have to do anything to the bulb housing. Do you have bricks, or projectors?

Small update, installed the silvia hide a key badge. Switched the key cartridge out too so i could use my own keys.
