Hey I got a quick question about your sparkplugs! what did you gap them at? does it seem to sputter at around 5000rpms? cuz i am about to pick up some new spark plugs so just wanted to make sure that these were flawless!

spark plugs are not the only problem. look up a post about cut off sputter jump 5k rpm . it has something to do with the coilpacks arcing and not having good coverage. ie (paint pealing boots cracked.)

When i did it i removed the timing belt, replaced the pump, then replaced the belt/idlers and such... Granted it wasn't on an RB so it may be different...

Oh, sorry.. Yes i did. But I kept the upper belt connected to the cam pulleys. How you might ask? lol I zip tied the belt to each cam pulley. 2 per cam towards the top so they wouldnt jump teeth. :dblthumb: Trick my dad taught me... In the picture below I removed the cam sensor bracket of course...

Since i finally got the tach working and correct, i can accurately time this thing. Thinking about siphoning the gas out so I can get some premium in there. I have this whole weekend off so more to come.

depending on how much/how old gas is in there i would just use some octane booster and fill up with 93 you will be fine. ;)

Haha, SO nice! Boost starts at about 3k and pulls to almost redline. Super smooth, great power band. Sounds ammmmmaaaazing. Heres a small video. Still no tabs, and couple more tweaks here and there. But almost ready! Also wired my lights up! Low/hi beam come from single h4 bulb, and the inner bulbs (fogs, as listed on zilvia) comes on with high beam. Turn signals/running lights on bumper and corner lights as running lights for now.
Sorry, camera phone pic again

And for the video! IN and drive by video. Keep in mind road wasnt completely dry and was kinda cold out. No WOT in this vid

Did you do refreshing of the timing area? Belts, water pump, pulleys? Where did you get the engine from? I have been reading about Jarco and heard good and bad things over at Tampa Racing forums.

I plan on doing a RB20 swap, and if I can get the funds, then it will be a RB25 since they are similar, just a driveshaft and a few other things. Selling some of my old Supra parts to get enough funds. How much did everything run you so far?

You didn't change the headgasket? I plan on doing a timing service and a Tomei headgasket on my engine with a full engine gasket set. Don't worry about me, I am very very keen about these things. I just hate any kind of leaks.

s***, I spent about 600 dollars in silicone hoses, from coolant to vaccum, for my Supra, even steel braided clutch lines.

Turbo cannot be rotated, well this one can't, it would touch the runners on the manifold.
The guy's favorite color was red I believe. The hood was just open, it is not actually like that. Hopefully I can finish off this Supra soon and start on the S13. You know, Toyota and Nissan....make the Honda kid cry.

More recent pictures hopefully tomorrow.

Haha, its all good. I miss my MA70! I had the same car, non turbo and swapped in the same motor. 7m-GTE. Dont mind the wing, this was my first build ever. I was 17 lol and in high school when wings were all the hype
Image
Notice i'm still rockin' the same wheels! Just different color! lol got my money's worth

Driveshaft yea. Rb25 transmission is a bit longer so custom propeller is needed

You Supra was a 91 or 92? It has the rare Sunroof. Your a douchebag for selling that. They are worth a lot now, extremely rare. :yesnod

Propellor? You mean the yolk on the back of the gearbox? Did you do anything timing related to your RB20? Waterpump, pulleys and gaskets? How does the RB20 pull, if it is pretty good, then I will do that instead of a RB25 and bolt on a huge spoolable turbo.
