Hello all, first time poster here. I picked up a cheap 240 recently and I could use a little help. My knowledge of these vehicles is limited but I bought this car as a fix up project... at least before swapping.

Anyway, the car is in really good shape with no rust on the body or underneath. I believe it to be the base model and has the KA24E engine, which needs some assistance. The valve train is quite noisy and there is a decent amount of smoke out the tailpipe. I gave it a good look over earlier and it appears that some things are missing?? I attached a few pics to show what I am talking about:

So as you can see it appears to be missing some belts and whatever else. I'm trying to figure out what it could be and I downloaded the service manual and started looking through it. Figured I'd try the forum to see what people come up with. The car is in really good shape so I had planned to doing the tappet adjustment and seals myself. Thanks in advance for any helpful information.

And yes, I know the battery isn't present either, but it was dead and I got a replacement which is still charging up...

Didn't want to bump my own thread, but I've been searching around a lot and it seems like a lot of people are deleting the P/S and AC intentionally. No AC I can live with but I'd prefer power steering if possible. I've ordered a new valve cover gasket because whoever had the car didn't do the seal right. Now I'm just trying to figure out how I can belt the P/S pump. After that, clutch.

Power steering belt: BANDO L=1155 & MITSUBOSHI L=1155
Advanceauto: Drive Rite belt $8 part # 455K3

Looks like you need the idler pulley bracket and pulley.
About $80 for new pulley Product SKU: 11945-S13003
and $40 for new bracket Product SKU: 11926-S13001 or Product SKU: 11926-S13002 ...not sure which

Looks like the PS pump is still hooked up, so may still work fine. Just belt it up, bleed the reservoir and that should do it.
Go ahead and remove the A/C compressor if you aren't using it. Save yourself some weight!

Thanks for the info, I'll add that stuff to the list. Luckily the rest of the car really doesn't need anything, so sorting out the motor means it's ready for the road.
