Wondering if somone could help me out with this one, iv'e had my 92 s13 on the road now for about a month. I drove it around a few times illegaly right after i bought it just out of curiosity, and i was very satisfied at how quick it would accelerate. Anyway, ever since it's been legal to drive it's been acting strange and not making the kind of power it did only a few months ago. One thing iv'e noticed while driving is that the e-brake light is on most of the time so i figured i must have sticky brakes and that's what's causing the problem, but even when the light goes off it's still just as slugish. When i go to accelerate it's just as fast with the peddle half way down as it is all the way down. Now i know stock s13's aren't rocket ships, but there certainly faster than a scion box wich i beleive does a 12 second 0 - 60, and guess what? That's how long it takes my car to get to 60 with a powered launch, after testing this last night im definately sure there is something wrong im just not sure what it could be. I appreciate anyones input, hopefully i can get this problem solved soon.

try a basic tune up first..plugs, wires, fuel filter, oil change. start with the basics

brake light is not neccessarily ebrake, check your fluid level and see if you have any seized pistons on your calipers

Thanks for the input, ill check out the brakes when i have the time. I did a tune up on it a while ago so that can't be the problem, what's strange is that it just sudenly started running like this out of the blue.

walk out right now and pop your hood, if your fluid level is anywhere near or under the E then you either have VERY low pads, a leak, or possibly a seized piston (worst case scenario)

It was close to the minimum line so i filled it up to the max line, im going to check it over the next few days and see if it drops. Thanks for the help, hopefull i can do an entire brake job soon, and get this problem taken care of, assuming this is what's causing it in the first place.

if its even close your light will be on

check all your pads, your fluid drops as your brake pads wear (more fluid that has to go to the calipers fill with fluid

Alright thanks a lot, hopefully this will fix it. I know the wear tabs on the rear are squeling, not sure about the front.

A new CTS (coolant temp sensor) helped me.
