so i have had my 240 at my mom's house for a good while. i have been trying to find out what the problem is, but i just get the same result: the car cranks very slow and i hear clicking from the starter. i have replaced the starter, igntion coil, spark plugs, spark plug wires, and distributor and cap. i have no f-in' clue as to what it is!!!!! this is so damn frustrating!! if anyone can help me with this problem i would be forever greatful!!!! thanks

I agree it sounds like the battery needs replacing or charging up.Also check your earth strap for a good non corroded connection from battery to bodywork and the one from bodywork to the engine.Make sure your battery terminal connections are tight.

ither buy...or barrow a chager with the cranking option for jumpstarting a car....try starting the car with that option....batterys if there bad..willnot hold the cranking amp's needed to rotate and fire the systems at the same time..an easy way to test that battery is with a volt meter..if the batt has 12v and over..its good...if its anything under 12v..your screwed..get a new one...get back to us again on what ya find with an update..good luck man.

If you think the battery is good then start with the connections. The most common problem with starter issues is a little ground strap that i believe hooks onto the alternator. Its like a 8mm nut on the back of the alternator that many forget. to hook back up. I left mine lose one time and i had the same problem. Other than that it could be the main ground on the engine by the alternator loose or corroded. If not those check the power to the starter and make sure the connector isn't loose or corroded. If that looks all good then do a voltage drop test on the starter. spec is 200mv ground side and 500mv power side. Must have excessive resistance somewhere... hope this helps good luck
