"My s*** pile is going to kill me" support group.

Just wanted to see what everyone else thinks about this situation. Feel free to share your own experiences and insight.


Over the past 2-3 months i have been contemplating selling my beloved s*** pile. my process of thinking is kindof screwed up i guess but i always end up running the idea of posting it up at least once a day but never do.

A little back ground on my situation. I drive the car 20+ miles to work at 5am every day with solid motor mounts,transmission and subframe bushings, header,test pipe and isis 3inch blast pipe( car is stupid loud and crazy stiff)

So Everyone in a 10 mile span of the car hates me ( i dont give a flying f***!)

Anyways i always end up pulling up to the job site with 3/4 of my coffie in my lap and spend 95% of my day saying " can you repeat that a bit louder"

To make a long story short i hate hate hate everything about the car in the mornings..its to low, its to slow, its stupid loud for no reason and its at least 5 diffrent colors but at the end of the day when i get out of my nice new 2012 f150 i look at the poor little two tone coupe and cant help but fall in love all over.

I think i need to find a suport group that feels my pain.

Anyone else ever feel like this?

Peer pressure, is the worst thing that would contribute to my giving up my hatch. So many breakdowns while driving its not even funny. Woman hates it so much she won't ride in it and if she forgets that and does ride in it... I want to drive into a wall. A daily would be nice but my s13 is too fun.

Its a company truck that stays on the job at night ( no room to park it at my place) So i cant really drive it home.

Theres no point to this thread, just tired of seeing 10000000 build threads and nothing else going on...

Side note, need to pick out a new clutch anyone have any good street / autox setup they like? Im thinking about a exedy stage 2 with 11lb flywheel but i really dont know what im looking at when it comes to clutches..

I've only thought of selling my car once, and that was only for a day when I was pissed. Can't get rid of that car.

Anyway, why don't you just put on a different exhaust and use poly engine mounts?

Dude, you put on solid mount and a straight pipe, wtf did you think the results were gonna be?
It's like setting yourself on fire and complaining that it's hot.

Buy better coilovers, get better engine mounts, and put on a regular exhaust.
Look what you've done, you need to buy s*** twice to revert it back from a POS.
You promised me you'd build that two-tone properly.

i think i see where this is going

I used to have the cleanest EG hatch i'd ever seen. Thing was gorgeous. Bright orange/red with ridiculous red flake and almost no mileage. That car was my baby.

Now i have a beat up s13 with an sr20 in it. The suspension is crap, the fenders are improperly rolled thanks to the last owner, the wheels are too big 18", the tires are going bald, the ball joints are all bad, the dash is cracked to all hell, and the power steering is leaking like a b****. Every day i worry about hitting bumps because the back end is so loose due to a lack of bushings. I have bushings that i can't find time to install and tie rods i can't put on until i get enough money for a p/s rack rebuild, but i have absolutely no money. i actually owe 400$. Sucks not having a job yet.

every once in a while, i'll lose it, and bust some donuts or something, and that helps me remember why i went through with it. It's gonna be a long crawl, but it'll be worth it.

At the time i had a full turbo setup waiting to go on the car and plans to have a dd so i wasnt really worryed about it, plans change and money got really tight ( house hunting and bs at work kindof put a big damper on the car but thats all worked out now so its back time to stop letting you down and "start fresh" as some money is starting to pile back up in the car found.

Keep an eye open on the "build" i should be picking up some 5 lug goodies and getting the car ready for a splash of paint this weekend.

Cause you were in such a rush, now you have a car that makes you unhappy.

I'd just get a different exhaust! Dude my car is fully stripped and has header, dp, test pipe and a catback with a 4in tip, all 3in piping. I didn't pay attention when i ordered the exhaust off of ebay, didn't pay attention to the 4in tip lol, but kept it and i love how my car sounds from the outside. Also I drive the car to college and back, thats 100+miles and is my dd i don't have any problems at all. I'm also running poly motor and trans mounts, they are still stiff, they have like 14k miles on them now and still stiff as day i first fired my car up on them. When my car idles my damn mirrors vibrate and everything is blurry lol, also when im doing like 35mph or below, but when cruising there fine. Your car looks way better then mine does but either way i still love my hatch. Im a full time college student so I can't get coils for it or rims, no job, so i rock the 4x4 status on steelies and two tear drops in the front. Either way i hated the poly mounts in the beginning but the more i drove it i got used it. The shaking mirrors now put smile on my face cause the way they make some things look lol. But just change the things you don't like on it, trade them with someone who has what you want to try out. P.S. if you have the blast pipes and want to trade let me know lol.
