I first noticed the rattle on my 08 AWD with about 3k miles. I now have 17k. The rattle is still there (of course only as slow speeds and coasting) but does not appear to be getting any worse for the last 10k. I don't hear it unless my radio is all the way down. I am wondering if it will get worse? I am borderline on if I can live with it or not. But if it will get worse, or failure is immenent, I would go ahead and move forward. Is there anyone else living with the rattle out there, thinking they may just keep living with it?

sorry, I meant to post this to the rattle page, but apparently, I don't know how to post to an existing thread.

This is just my opinion, but I would say failure is immenent. It's just a matter of time. Not sure if anyone has established just what is making the grinding sound, but anytime something is grinding or whatever, it has got to be doing cumulative damage. I do believe someone has posted somewhere along the line that their dealer had a couple of cases of complete transmission failure in the Rogues due to this issue.

Get it changed and have a some peace of mind.

Absolutely, this is a no brainer. If your transmission is grinding that is not good, and just because it sounds the same doesn't mean the damage isn't being done, and at some point it'll fail. Maybe you'd get lucky, but with a warranty why in the world would you consider living with this? Its the manufacturers problem, not yours, let them fix it.
