Why don't you check your cam timing? and put the stock intake back in? why bother with the super huge intake cam and super small exhaust cam? Stock is what 240deg? and not even 8.8lift. Did you follow the directions when installing the cams? If you don't losen them right or run the caps down in the right order you will crack them. the 5k spool does seem really bad even tho that 8cm exhaust housing is huge. See if u can find a 6cm exhaust housing and switch that out.Carryl wrote:hey fellas, i been non the forums a while now, never got around to posting my project. anyway my question is .. anyone have any experience with that sized turbo on... a 20......im not seeing boost till about 5000rpm..full boost around 6000... rough estimate.......however the waste gate seems to crack around 2500-3000rpm range.......is this amount of lag usual .. Carl says its cuz the compressor is huge.....i just expected less lag due to the small hot side.. also it should be noted that between gears there is also some lag...any ideas?..............base timing is set...cam gears are set as well.......
sorry engine bay is pretty nasty right now....just swapping to a j30 igniter havent been bothered to clean her up yet
manifold..
I concur.Carl H wrote:lol battleship.

we will me needing the space to install our top mount turbo manifold and new turbo
Ive heard that you lose hp is this true? if so what kind of power loss do you get?
Right now we are building the car as an every day car that we can take to the drag strip on weekends
Our project is a Mitsubishi sigma we used this as it has a very light weight body (its about 996kg) way lighter than i GTS skyline or a cefiro
the motor bolted up very nice in its engine bay, we also swapped the stock 3.5:1 rear end for a 4.3:1 rear the 3.5 was a bit sluggy
the motor setup we are running rite now is
*stock rb20 motor
*300zx 45v3 t3 turbo
*turboXS boost controller
*12 psi boost
*blitz bov
*blitz LM 3" intercooler
*2.5 intercooler piping
*3" free flow stainless exaust
*apexi n1 tail pipe
*rebuilt gear box
*upgraded ecu flashedremaped by raymond of ems tuning( also no speed/boost or fuel cuts )
*fidanza 4.3 Performance 6puc ceramic Clutch (exeddy street clutch was slipping)
*NGK iridium spark plugs
*3 core
*All oil seals and belts changed
*walbro external fuel pump
other upgrades coming soon
*adjustable cam gears
*Cometic head gasket
*ARP bolts
*high flow turbo manifold
*Garret gt30r or Turbonetics GTK ball bearing
*Tiial wastgate
*Greddy or Haltech engine management system tuned to about 20psi
*550cc nismo injectors
*sard fuel press reg
*water/meth injection kit
then we may prob change the cams
