My review of my mother's new 2011 Infiniti EX Journey AWD

Discussion of Infiniti's amazing (and underrated) sport-luxury crossovers, the EX35 and EX37. For 2014, the EX series will be renamed QX50, in line with Ininfiit's new naming conventions.

I'm a big Nissan and Infiniti fan. My grandmother just got a new 2011 EX and previously had the 2008 Infiniti EX. I thought I would do a review of it. I think the car is fantastic and a thrill to drive.

Nicely done!
You must have a lead foot! I routinely get at or just above the rated mpg, even with fairly spirited driving ;)
Thanks for posting, and all the best with your career plans.

Nice to read your review. I too am surprised that you are getting that low gas mileage. Mine was a bit low prior to break-in and has improved since then. Also, the current EXs no longer have the "Scratch Shield" paint.

I am 5'11" and I sat in the back seat when we went for the test drive. I felt like I had enough head room for short trips but knew that only one other person could sit in the back. The issue I had was with egress. The wheelbase caused the wheel-wells to interfere with getting my feet in and out comfortably. I have noticed that with other passengers getting on the rear seats.

One thing that people should recognize is that the style and size of the EX is the major factor limiting the rear seat and cargo size. To make either of those large enough to make a difference, the style will change and it will become more of an FX or, to gain cargo space, a taller and more square back hatch and it will start to like the rest of the SUV/CUV market.

The Canadian Infiniti site still lists scratch shield paint on 2011models!
