Finally I'm uploading my digicam pics from my trip to Aruba, got back Aug 14th. I got the opportunity of going because my bf's mom opted out, so i took her place. Pretty lucky in that respect. :D

Aruba is a great island to visit, the potential of your vacation being ruined by a tropical storm is nil. The island is outside of the hurricane belt, year-round temp is 80 degrees and sunny (goes without saying this is an desert island). The water is safe to drink, they have a pretty recent desalination plant and the island isn't over-populated. Drive out for 10min and you'll be surrounded by countryside, just about the other half of the island is preserved.

Anyway, We stayed at the Renaissance Hotel Marina Towers(seeing the other hotels, i think the place we stayed is the best). The hotel happens to own a 40acre island with a beach, small restaurant, gym, and nature trail.

Here's a few pics, i'll also link to some pics too. Don't want to overload this thread. :D

Oh i have to mention: Aruban food is delicious! While a lot of the restaurants are pricey (not outrageous), we found one of the few restaurants that serves freshly caught fish (most places served frozen--at least our atv tour guide said so). It was called the Old Fisherman, very delicious latin-style food. Mmm!

:D Yeah i did! I can't wait to go back! I'll probably be visiting in the future several times.

Lots of cool cars to look at there too. I did see an R33 Skyline, perhaps the only one on the island, didn't have my camera on me at the time. Toyotas and Nissans really dominated the island. Mostly Tercel's, Sentra's (some badges as Sunny's),Daihatsu's (new ones), Hyundais of all sorts, saw a Hyundai van, and a mini hatchback called the "Getz", Suzuki's, Chevy's, etc etc. Saw ONE s13, a moron was driving it, he did a burnout while we were eating chinese outside on the patio. And Aruba even has a dragstrip! Apparently F&F hit big over there, lots of ricers.

No. But my bf and i collected a bunch of dead coral from one of the coves around the beach area, for his saltwater tank. Ended up bringing a tiny crab into the hotel room. We put it on his brother's pillow. :D
