i have been a member of nico for a few years and lately havent posted or lurked much. but recently i got a hold of a 90 hatch with a ca18det that had a snapped timming belt and 4 bent valves. all for 500 bucks i might add.

this forum btw has a great ca section which is why i have been posting a bit more than usual.

well i finally got around to taking the head off and taking it to a machine shop. 4 new valves and a 5 angle valve job later, i put the head on myself which is the first for me. went through some timing issues and now the car runs great. stock turbo at stock boost with 3" turbo back feels pretty peppy.

My main s13 is an sr powered one with a s15 turbo that puts out 269hp and 288tq, so the new stockish ca feels a bit slow to me. I hope to soon purchase a manual boost controller and a fmic and turn up the boost to probably 13ish lbs.

i can say this car will make a great daily driver.

i just thought i'd share this with the rest of you. i'll try to post pics up soon

careful with the stock turbo if you're still running it.. i believe theyre only rated to 12 lbs of boost at most..
