Throw in a few coats of POR-15, some handy work with the Dremel, and of course some new hardware, ANND

What do you guys think? Is it nice, or is it...rice?

I ordered all the new hardware for my suspension project and the rear diff from Fastenal. The allen bolts are M10x1.25 x 30mm. The drain/fill plugs are Moonface as Omega pointed out and you can get them at FRSport. lol and yes, I used an allen socket to tighten the boltsILoveMyRHS13 wrote:
Where did you get your hardware and such? I think I'm going to do this to a spare pumpkin and drop my 2 way in it.
My only recommendation is to use an actual allen socket on the cover bolts. If they're not torqued down enough, it'll leak. I can't imagine getting too much torque from a regular allen wrench.
haha to answer your question I just used the regular gloss black POR-15 rust preventative paint being that I am coating suspension components for my project. I know they make their engine enamel in black as well, and IIRC, the complete "engine painting kit" they sell is only a few bucks more than what I paid for just a 1qt. can of the regular paint. Regardless, it's great stuff and I've had nothing but awesome results with it.OutToWinPAHC wrote:So since your rear diff is balling, hows the front one? On a more serious note, is that the POR 15 engine enamel? I need to paint my Harley motor, and that looks great.
