Those have been done. I see the Reventon as a super EXOTIC because there were ONLY 20 made in the world. I called and the sales person in charge of the car wasn't in today. I'll give him a call tomorrow.toxik wrote:
ricky, how about a murci or a carrera gt
Not to insult your friends, but it sounds like they are talking out of their a**. There's a guy in my hometown running one with 550+ whp. It's still under warranty. The catch to the modifications is they have to be done by an authorized shop.Mr.Coupe wrote:
A friend of mine is the service manager at my nissan dealer. I was going to get a GT-R a few months after they first came out. So I went to go get some info on the car from him and my other friend who is a sales/finance manager at the same dealer. After I heard what they told me and they both said the same thing..." Dude just stay with the A/C." The service manager friend told me the following. Oil change every 3K miles $350 it's a MUST, Tires HAVE TO be changed every 10K miles $5K, transmission HAS TO be services every 10K miles $5K, when you change brakes you HAVE TO change all 4 corners $4,700 and you HAVE TO service the transmission after the 3rd R mode launch because if you do a 4th it will automaticly void your warranty. I'm the kind of person who likes to change their own oil on the car so I say to him "Well is changing the oil hard I do it to all my cars?". He says dude you touch the engine in that car and it voids your warranty. I then asked him how would Nissan know if I do a 4th R mode launch and he replies with "Dude the car has a freaken black box that's linked to Nissan. I said SIHT never mind I'll just keep driving my A/C. To me it's not the fact of paying all this money for the service of the car. Because I will have peace of mind knowing that the car's engine and performance life will last a great time, but with all the HAVE TO's and MUST's put on the car to me it doesn't seem like a car to enjoy. It seems like a damn job and priority. Sorry for the long post just wanted to explain my answer.

no offense to you ricky but from what I heard you have to be somebody important to get this car.... just like the Enzo, Lambo said you need to own a few already in order to get this car. I don't know if this is still true since your getting it from a private dealer or not.....Mr.Coupe wrote:

Anyways, don't get the reventon. Man that car is gonna be worth so much money in just a few years, thats a car for a collection not for driving. You're insane if you put more than 1,000 miles on that thing.
Get a Carrera GT man, those things hold up better than a Lambo or Ferrari and theyre not too common to see like lambo and ferrari.
I called today and spoke to the sales person. He adviced me that at the moment the car is posted on ebaymotors and that if it doesn't sale there that there's a person who made them an offer already. Since the person enquired about the car and offered before I called that he's entitled first. Oh well I guess I'll just have to keep searching. And no you don't have to be "somebody important" to get the car. You just have to have the money to buy it.toxik wrote:

Yeah dude that's the price you pay for that great luxury or owning an exotic (Your uncle I mean). Same with the GT-R, but with all the restrictions put on the car by Nissan I just say F-EM on the cars "Have To's and MUST's". I'll just drop my money on an actual exotic and enjoy driving it with non of the BS .crayzitalian3 wrote:my friend at school daily drives a GT-R.
and the carrera GT is a money pit, my uncle has one and every 12000 miles you have to change something in the transmission/clutch and everytime you do it you either have to go through Porsche to keep the warranty and pay close to 27,000 to have them do it, or do it yourself, prob void the warranty and pay close to 12,000. my uncle wants to get rid of it cause he pays 15,000 a year for insurance which only lets him drive it about 3000 miles a year. and every 4 months he has to be almost 3000 for oil, or something along that line. other than that, i am in love with his car and I wish i could just keep it and he can pay for everything lol
