PS is in the works, but been kinda lazy and more of wanting to drive the car than start engineering stuff again.Milo (San Antonio) wrote:Very nice, impressive.
Not gonna run a PS system?
Also, how do you like the E-manage? Work well for you application?
Initial Fire-Up Vidtg wrote:Do you have any videos of it?
Hard to say what I have in it total right now. I'd guess close to 15k but the potential of my setup I'd assume is far greater than what you've currently got on your plate. I could safely make around 600rwhp with this setup, however i have seen stock RB26 blocks pushed to 750rwhp......CRZSWAP wrote:Nice swap man. It is pretty clean. How many lbs of boost are you currently running and whats the max hp/torque? I have a bug with my cpu right now so I couldnt view the vids. I would also like to make a comparison to your swap cost to mine because I started to go RB or 2JZ but I decided to go the least common way. My swap was right around 8K total with some minor engine mods. How about yours roughly?
I guess im not comprehending where you're inferring this from.....The floorboard has a reinforced hole through it where the bolt and mounting bracket for the belt go. My roll-cage guy told me this was perfectly acceptableevildky wrote:very nice, it looks like your antisubmarine belt is installed imcorrectly, if the seat isn't made with the privision for the antisubmarine belt you should just run a 4 point it would be safer
Please, dont take my post as me trying to start a pissing match, because it was far from that. It was more of a "I could have done this alot cheaper, but I got all top of the line parts"..........thus me spending more money. IE I could have purchased an ebay turbo manifold but I bougth the $2400 Full Race unit, I could have bought a PowerFC for alot cheaper but I bought a $2000 AEM setup, the list goes on.CRZSWAP wrote:Well I am sure it does have a little more potential in it than what "is currently on my plate" considering you have 15k in your swap and I have roughly 8K in mine! But im sure I could VERY EASILY take the extra 7K you have invested in put in my swap ang make well over 750hp as well. To each is own. Like I said, nice swap, I almost went RB but I wanted something "more rare on my plate"
On the other hand, I am considering on starting another project here soon and right now I am leaning towards 2JZ Z32.
I'm leaving them stock. My primary objective with this car is the drag strip. I will never put this car on a road course, so the need for heavy duty brakes and an 'on-rails' suspension is not there. It has been proven in many nissan instances that the stock suspension performs better on the drag strip because of its ability to transfer weight. I have never had an issue with the brakes, if anything I might move up to the bigger 350Z track rotors, but even then thats additional rotating mass fighting me on the drag stripfreakonaleash1187 wrote:Do you plan on doing anything with the brakes or suspension? The stock brakes on a stock TTZ have a hard time keeping up, I can't imagine they will perform well with 450whp. Having a high-horsepower Z with stock brakes and suspension is like having a hot chick with a butter face.
Also, have you weighed it yet?
Are you sure about that? How much actual experience do you have drag racing? I was out cutting low 1.5 60 foots last year and I didnt even have a 2-step. I was daily driving the car with AC, Power Steering, and Cruise Control and driving it to the track to the tune of 540rwhp and running 11.2@124 all on stock suspension and a 10.5 mickey thompson.....tg wrote:
If you're serious about doing drag with 600whp you're going to need alot more than a stock suspension. You'll probably have to dish your rear fenders and have a custom rear end. Stock brakes are out of the question, if you have the money to 'invest' as you comically put it, then spend a bit on two-piece aluminum hat rotors and a 1piece driveshaft, this is where you'll save the most 'rotating mass' on the whole driveline. Your stock suspension will not transfer 600whp, even brand new.
I did neglect to say I do have SpecialtyZ subrame spacers.....freakonaleash1187 wrote:At least put some subframe spacers in there as they get rid of the inch play between the frame and subframe. I'm sure you can get better weight transfer with better suspension, or am I just ignorant when I see all these drag cars with a lot done to the suspension. Just because you are getting good times now doesn't mean you can't get better times. With the amount of time and money you are putting into this, I would think you would want the best of everything, not just good enough.
Fair enough. You did a very nice build on your Z, although it is completely opposite of what I believe in as I am a road course type of guy and I am a huge Z purist. But still, you have a clean Z.Booztd 3 wrote:

My attitude to the aftermarket suspension is kind of a 'if it aint broke dont fix it'.....I really dont want to spend the kind of money its going to take to throw a completely adjustable suspension under this thing, only to spend many many months dialing it in, and maybe gaining a tenth on my ET..
