Finally got it started after months of working a little here and there. First problem I had was I had fuel lines swapped. It then sounded like it wanted to stat so I pulled the plug on the maf. Next key turn it started up like a champ. My question is: Is my Maf bad? I'm pretty confident in my wiring or is it normal to have to unplug the maf with just the basic wires wired to start car? If my maf is bad I have a maf from a z32 but I would need to get ecu reprog for it to work correct? I wanna thank Carl H, Skillzilla and Alex C for their writeups and help in answering my questions so far.

I currently have a 90degress pipe going fomr turbo to intake for right now. Only other thing I could think of is the vaccumn lines I have plugged fromt he aftermarket blowoff valave and the one on the intake by the fuel rail. Also what sparkplugs shoudl I get since my rb has the cam cover that says rb20 on it since I saw 89-91, and 92-93 have different ones listed on a ngk site.

If you want to check if your maf is working just unplug it and start the car. It will idle without the maf plugged in. Just won't rev over 3k or 2.5k.

OK well testing a few more things. When starting cold I cannot start unless Maf is unplugged and it won't let me rev above said 3k, but I can plug in maf while running and it smoothes out idle and lets me rev alot higher. Once car is warm I can turn it off and start it back up with maf plugged in. Also where are the 3 plugs under the dash? do I need to take dash off? is my prolem the cold start wire?

it should start fine without the cold start hooked up, just will take a couple turns of the engine and maybe a little gas pedal pump action to get her happy.

ps depends on how cold your talking about I guess

Yeah sounds like the cold start isn't wired up.
