So far so good, ka24e is out of the bay with the transmission, I cleaned the rb20 and it is sparkling.. New belts, new alternator, power steering and ac compressor going on tomorrow... New spark plugs will go on soon too and I will start rewiring tomorrow probably..

I still have to clean out my engine bay from the oil leak I had and I may end up using the truck bed liner stuff in my engine bay once it is all cleaned up because no grease sticks to it...

JDM-Online skimmed me of a few parts (stock sidemount intercooler which Nesar promised me on the phone and in email by stating that all engine bay components would be included...) - When I mentioned this to him on the phone he called me an idiot saying I did not know how to take the old engine out, and he can send someone that I can pay to do my swap with an extremely rude tone..

So, with that said I am in the market for a front mount, or side mount to get it running once I have everything wired.

Josh

EDIT: Also, the rear of the transmission where the driveshaft goes was cut off with a torch... any way to get that piece off?*

What part of Charleston are you from? I used to live about 30 minutes from there.

just knock it out with a rubber mallot (or you pry it out with a crowbar)

That's exactly how mine was. I know it seems really stubborn, but that yoke should just pull right out. Fiddle with it for a while, and pull with all your might and it shall come out, hopefully.

Yeah, I have a spare bucket for that purpose :-)

The other bucket is under the old engine transmission haha...

I am installing a front dome light right now, I just did all the wiring for it and I just need some duct tape or a metal clip for the side with the clip so it will snap into place :-)

Still no photos but here is an update..

All wiring is done, rebuilt power steering pump, checked timing belt (looked brand spanking new), put the engine in the car (tight fit)

But, when I lifted it up off the crate for the first time, I noticed something...

It was damaged during freight, the oil pan is bent in a little bit, and the oil line is CRUSHED!!!! leaking oil...

So, I need to see if I can replace the line and use the pan, or if I have to replace both...

Ford taurus fans are wired up...

I wired them up as a pusher (they work as puller (from inside the engine bay) or as a pusher (from in front of the radiator))

To wire them as a pusher simply give the GROUND wire power - use a 30 amp inline fuse before attaching to power.

Then, find the highspeed wire by connecting them to the battery and watching it make a dust storm in your garage..

Once you have it, read the guide on making a fan controller which is extremely easy.. just connect the high speed wire to one side of the connector that connects into the thermostat and the other wire coming off the switch ground on your chassis... (when the ground is made, the high speed kicks in, for the ground to be made the thermostat must reach the temp..)

And, the other wire for low speed, simply ground to your chassis!

Ok, to make the fan turn on when the car is running, simply splice it into the thick white wire coming out of the fusebox into the bunch of cables :-)

The Taurus fans, this is how the wiring is done.. Black goes to POWER, hight speed goes to the thermostat and then to GROUND, low speed goes directly to ground

The car :-)

The Dash

The added 1999 maxima dome lamp :-)

Engine

The turbo

THE CRUSHED OIL LINE AND OIL PAN!!!!!!! Can I use the oil pan still?

Swap looks like its coming along nice, wish I were as far along as you .

Dude your dome light is awesome! I always reach up there in the dark and every time I'm just as disappointed as the last that Nissan didn't put a light there. Something I've thought about for a while, nice to see someone get it done.

Your oil return looks ****ed. You should be able to get by if you chop it off before the crush then run a rubber hose, maybe with a coil spring outside of it to prevent it from crushing. Otherwise you should be able to find or fab a return pipe, hell I have mine laying around somewhere in the garage if you need one... I'm going to run a stainless line back to the block since the stock return doesn't fit my T3T04+HKS mani.

GL, how long before you can fire it up?

What year is your S13? Mine is a '93 and it comes with a factory "front dome light", weirdness.

89...

Do you have a power sunroof? Usually those come with the dome light because of the controls..

I have a moon roof (which comes off, yay, or props up like a sun roof) so no controls..

Wiring is straight forward on it, once I am done with everything ill do a write up.
