so after wiring everything together in the 91 240sx that I had bought with the rb in it I swapped the rb20 over to to a clean shell (since the other shell had massive damage to the wheel well and door frame) so I plug everything in and splice together a the few wires that I didn't have a plug for and I have nothing I was able to get the engine to turn over in my red 240 but not in the new one

I turn the key and nothing happens, no clicks no power to ecu, no power to the windows. the only thing that gets power are the door locks and the dome light inside the car. I dont know where to start what should I check first?

thanks for the help, It turns out that I wasn't getting power to the fuse box like you said, and I was missing like 8 fuses lol.

now the car turns over but I don't think im getting any fuel to the engine. what could be the issue there? thanks for all the help

did you change the fuel pump in the new shell? getting voltage at the pump? return and supply fuel lines connected correctly?

it has the stock fuel pump (will be changed to a walbro soon) and I did all the fuel lines ( hopefully correctly), and my multimeter is back home in socal while im up here in Davis(norcal) for school. is there any other way to check for voltage at the pump?

ok to trouble shoot this start with

FUEL PUMP RELAYECCS RELAY

FUEL PUMP PRIME = when you apply the on swith you should hear the fuel pump primeFUEL PUMP PULSE = you should feel the feed line and feel 3 small pulses

If none of that then use the multimeter to check voltages

after all that check to make sure your 12VDC PLUG to your FUEL INJECTOR harness is plugged in.

the fuel pump works, but I have a leak in the hard line, its a small hole but has some force behind it. can this be the problem?

I also noticed that the fuel lines coming out of the tank felt firm while the ones up front going to the engine still felt soft, so im not sure what the problem is. or what I could do to resolve the problem?

might have some blockage. Check the fuel line before the fuel filter. The feed line hooks up to the back of the fuel rail by the coil pack. return line is the one that goes to the fuel pressure regulator.

a real easy way is to unhook both fuel lines and route them into a plastic bottle and have someone turn it to ON, see how much fuel you have spit out in a 5 second prime on the fuel pump, or go buy an in-line fuel pressure gauge at a parts store or something.

If that doesnt work, pull out the CAS and with the key ON, rotate the keyway and listen for the injectors pulsing.

i agree with kansai.. I think you still got the lines wrong. The fuel filter line goes to the bottom and the return line to the tank hooks up to the fuel pressure regulator. Also you will need a fuel pressure regulator to adjust the right amount of fuel pressure. An inline fuel pressure gauge is your BEST FRIEND! Recharge your battery homeboy!

part of my problem was the CAS was not connected well, I connected it and turned it I could hear the injectors pulse, on the ecu I also get a code 13? one long blip followed by 3 fast blips. well now I get gas to the cylinders but it still doesn't start, any other ideas? thanks for the help so far.

ok, so I found the plug for the sensor that gave the code, it was loose so I connected it and im getting no codes, but im still getting no spark. any Ideas?

I have a bet with a friend that I could get the car running by the 26th of September. If I could get it running he would buy me a tank of gas

also was the car an automatic?, if so there is a plug on the side of the fuse box that is big, grey and has 2 wires going to it. If it is not pluged up to anything, like mine was, I had to splice them together......hope this helps and if you do have that empty plug and are weary of doing that just let me know and i will take a picture and send it to you to make sure thats the right plug so you will not f- something up.......I had to do it to mine because with out it it did the same thing

I havent been able to check the wiring lately because i worked 2 10hr shifts at work. my question is do I need the intercooler piping for it to run? I seen people turn on the engine without the piping, it would run like **** but it would still run, I'll try to take a look at everything tomorrow

plus im getting no spark, I checked

my problem was with the 2 green relays by the ecu. they were unplugged and I had to take everything out of my car to look for them. lol
