So, last Saturday afternoon, between two of my private lessons, my wife's friend (who's car is parked one space over from mine) let me know that I had a dent in the passenger side door of my car.

She pointed it out and I took a look. This is what I found. Pictures were not taken at my house, but at the parking space near where I do my last 3 private lessons.

The dent itself is only about the diameter of a quarter. But it's where it's at.

If you look right behind the edge of the door line, you can see where the paint has actually cracked at the reinforcement.

It apparently happened earlier in the day when my car was parked for 3 hours at the community center I do my morning kids classes at. Unfortunately, there are no cameras, and they take no responsibility for damage to personal property.

Took the ole girl to a body shop my wife's family has used for years. He said he could do it. I'll find out tomorrow when I go in the morning to pick it up.

I f*** hate it when people do s*** like this and not man up to it.

Ouch! That really sucks! I hate it when people do crap like that; last summer someone doored my Eclipse and left a huge dent right on the body line that runs down the length of the car.

I guess you could be grateful that it's just a dent and that they didn't take out the side of your car. Best of luck to you.

So you ended up going back to Japan or what bud?

I would think people there would be more courtious as to leave you a note or something indiciating a contact name or phone number.

Unlike American's where no one cares about anything you got.

I think it's funny how they can charge you for taking up space at a garage but they can't be held liable when something happens to your car. lol

Just because they put a sign saying that they are not liable doesn't mean it's true.

Mellow, that pic was from March 2nd when I went down there to meet a friend for a parts swap. Dino happened to be there that night taking pictures for Skyline week.

Anyway, picked up the car today and am impressed by the work for the amount of money. Only 20,000 yen. There is just a small amount of paint run, but it's not noticeable unless you're really looking for it. I can live with that for the price. The guy even popped out another small dent on the drivers fender that has been there since I bought the car. And he did it at no charge.

Anyway, here are the pics.

And as an added extra bonus...my neighbors lifted, 2WD Chevy Astro with some mudders on it. Don't ask me why because I really don't know.

Anyway. I am happy with the work. Now it's time to research some detailing techniques so I can pick some stuff up while I am back home again for my buddy's wedding at the end of the month.

Yes. The trip home last time was to give my boys a chance to relax and not have to worry about the crap going on over here. It was pretty tense the first week, but things have seemed to settle down with the exception of the occasional aftershock/quake that rock us pretty regularly.

Actually, the parking at the community center is free parking. There were no witnesses so I have no way to prove beyond doubt that it happened there. I know it had to have happened there because I only parked my car at three places the day it happened before I noticed. The community center, a convenience store where the car parked next to me didn't have anyone in it when I got there and then left, and at my students house, which I parked passenger side against the house. Community center is the only place.

It couldn't have happened any other day because Friday night while I was out on the highway, my friends were with me and they would have noticed something like that.
