I turn my A/C on (QX 2000 model), I hear the compressor clutch clicks on & off.(I feel warm air blow)However I drive for a while then I don't hear any clicking from the compressor and air conditioner begin to work.( I can feel cool air)Can anyone tell me what's wrong?

qship96,

The clutch operate about 2 seconds then off for about 20 seconds, continually. ( I hear clicking on & off)I can feel the air get cool while clutch is applied, and then of course less cool when it is not applied. What is the problem?

I dont understand the problem? A/c blows cold after a few minutes of driving? Many a/c blow warmish air for the first few minutes of use, especially if the car was parked in hot sun with windows closed.

Please describe your concerns more clearly so we can help. Q45 uses a variable displacment compressor, so it never cycles on-off-on-off to maintain system like most cars do....not sure if the QX used variable displacment compressor also, or the more common cycling variety....you must figure that out to determine if your cycling is normal, or a sign of a problem{ usually incorrect freon level}
