ok i hope someone can help me out, i have a 94 q45t and am absolutely in love with it. about a month ago it started acting really sluggish when i would take off from a light and progressively has gotten worse. i was on the i-5 about three weeks ago and was only able to do about 50mph and heard a weird almost backfiring like sound. i changed the plugs (ngk) cleaned the maf but still no change. now it really gets bad i jump in the q to take a ride and it wont even start, it just continuously turns over. i changed the fp even though i thought the old one was fine.......no change, i did the little gator clip trick to the fpcu....... still no change. i am ready to jump off a building and am getting very little sleep.......some one please help me get my baby back......as of right now i am confined to riding my gsxr-600 every where or driving the wifes minivan ...... i hate minivans

Not good news, I'm afraid.

Went through the exact same symptoms with mine, and it was a dropped valve.

Run a compression test, but I think your engine is done.

From what I hear compression tests are easy to do but sometimes are wrong, So I would recomend a leak down test.

When you grounded the fuel pump did you ground it to an unpainted sureface on the car?

My bet is fuel pump controller, I think 3QJay rebuilds them so try him.

Might be worth checking the ECU for codes to rule anything else out.

its kind of hard to find a good place to ground the FPCU back there.. I use one of the screws that holds the speaker in place.

Clearly you're not getting any gas and the FPCU is likely shot, like Paul said..

Not really just look at the parcel shelf (Sun deck) AKA where the truck screws into, you should find a hole there. Once you do just sand the paint off or hopefully its free of paint already. Worst case senario you have to drill a hole or use a sheet metal (Self tap) screw.

The break in a fuse can be hard to see. Take a closer look at the fuel pump fuse either with a magnifying glass or by measuring continuity with a volt meter. Is the fuse in the correct slot in the fuse block?
