I've got an 86 D21 2.4l that i got for free. A buddy of mine had it & hooked the battery up backwards. He didn't want to pay to fix it so he gave it to me. The computer and fuel injectors were toast. I replaced those, and now it runs, but not very well. It runs ok idling and when you first take off, but it seems like when it starts turning higher rpms the ignition dies or the fuel mixture goes crazy, and it quits running until you let off the gas. I have tried 2 tpss. swapped the maf sensor. I adjusted the tps to the correct voltage at idle and WOT. This is not how alldata says to adjust it. It says to adjust it base on the idle switch at a certain rpm, but i dont have a tach, so thats not possible yet. it has codes 21 23 24 42. i think 2 of those are normal you have to push the clutch or the throttle to get them to go away, so i wasn't really worried about them. Any advise on which way to go with this would be greatly appreciated.

sounds to me like the second coil isnt firing. swap in some new coils and give that a go but it also could be the ignitor for that coil is fried so do a resistance test on both coils first. peace.
