well i had some problems with my old nico account so i had to make a new name. my old thread is gone so ill repost it under my new name. along with some updates.

i figured id make a thread on how my project is going. heres how it begani just turned 15 and was looking around for a 240. i found one in ohio for 1200. we live in illinois so it was about a 14 hour trip there and back. my dad and i left at 3 am and got back at like 9 pm that same sunday. everyone thought i was stupid for buying a beat up car. no one had faith so ive been workin on it ever since. im still 15 but i start drivers ed in about 5 days! the cars just my dd so im not modifying the engine at all. i say either engine swap, or turbo or nothing. bolt ons are a waste of money i think personally. my main goal was just to have a nice looking s13. and yea i still love body kits and widebodys coming from a fnf fanboy. so on with the pics...the day we brought her home

stripped for sound deadener

fresh paint! it was my first time painting a car. im happy with how it came out. i wasnt expecting anything perfect. picked white to hide imperfections and bondo

primer

base coat. toyota super white

clear

bought these p45r's from a fellow nico member17 x 9 +12

(gotta clean up that brake setup)fit perfect!

bought some interior goodies. nardi deep corn 330mm, sparco glob x shift knob, shift boot...

i got bored so i got blue lights

then upgraded to these bad boys

got polk sr component set ($800) for 225 at a closing Tweeter

before

after

some final after shots

hate my exhaust or love it i like it

i still need to buy tires, then coilovers, who knows what else. i honestly dont think ill ever stop putting money into this. i enjoy every minute of it though. anyway im open to comments. love or hate. o and also...yes i know my exhaust is on crooked. im going to fix that well i started on the front brake and finished at about 12:15 last night. the fronts are much bigger so they look better.well i think its time for a little update. i got some used azenis's and got them mounted on my p45r's. the tires are 225/45/17. my rotas are 9 inches wide so its a bit of a stretch. not much though. i really needed it though. theyre hella flush. maybe i little to much. i still needed to clean up the brakes too though so i got started on that. at first i wanted them like the mu brakes greenish blue. but it would look horrible with the red lip. so i just went with the overplayed red. i took the calipers and drums off, grinding them with a wire brush tip on a grinder and then painted them with a brush. the drums i painted black where the pad doesnt hit to hopefully stop the rust from coming back. let me know what you think. i wasnt to fond of the idea but i figured id give it a try. i only painted one to see how it would look.this is the brake setup beforeafter

sorry for the bad pictures. right now my car has a major oil leak so i cant move it. hopefully we'll get to that soon so i can take some nice pics outside

well yesterday i put my new main crank seal in which fixed the oil leak. i was so happy. havent driven my car in forever. then i got some blue headlight film from decalfx.com and some new super bright headlights to make up for the film. i only installed one so i could see the difference. the left light is the still the original headlight also.low beamshighsi dont like the way they look not lit up but there hide aways so what the hell?! some random shotsnext is coilovers. my front right struts leaking so i figured it was time. im saving right now. anybody know if i can just leave the strut even with no oil for a while? im not racing the car. just a dd. just want to know if its even safe. haha maybe a dumb question. o and that red civic is my brothers he thinks my cars a piece of junk o and one more question. does anybody here have auto canceling blinkers? or was that not even a option?

Check the vendor Import Intelligence, they have gauge needs and overlays that are really nice.

OP, nice car and nice work, but I am not a fan of the headlights, they kinda look silly and attract attention..... perhaps the police.

Looks like you have alot goin on, especially for being 15. Your gonna run into trouble being young with a car like that and with plates like yours, cops will remember you really easily.

Lookes good man all you need to do is drop it, and paint the wheels green, pink or purple. You know the JDM look. Blak is played out if you ask me but your not.

You're off to a good start with what you've got. You outta toy around with that bumper to get it to fit a little better and close that gap. Can't wait to see it slammed. That thing is begging for coils. Any idea what set you're saving for?

You're lucky to have parents that help you fund your project. You're on the right track to having a cool car.

The paint looks decent, but you should have removed the body kit before paint.I'm not a fan of the wheels, but at least they have proper sizing for stock fenders. Might need spacers with the widebody kit.

Paint the a pillars and roof blackGet kouki taillightsMake your front end fit betterGet coilovers

i was thinking the same thing. once i get sick of the black (will be very soon) ill go with green or white. green might be too "HEY LOOK AT ME!" though. white would look clean still.

yes i know. i just cant seem to get it to fit right. do most people take the bumper support out? because i left mine. maybe thats why. and im thinking stance. or tein. heard mixed reviews about tein

well first the body kit was molded on by the last guys. and these were about the only cheap wheels that would fit my widebody. and they really fit quite well. and its too late to paint the roof. im done painting. so sick of it. and yea i know its not the best paint job. but im 15. most people never paint a car in their lives so im already ahead. lastly my parents dont help me fund this car. they pay for my insurance untill i get my first ticket. thats it. ive been saving forever and now the days finally come where i can blow it all. ha i love it though

Nice car for being 15 i bought mine back then and have been working on it ever since! Tell your brother how much of a fag he is and that hes just jealous of your awesome drift device. Anyone can own a honda but why bother?

Ill be watching the thread waiting for more pics and slammage! If its just a DD get some coils without a super high spring rate. IE Megan streets arent too bad. And on enjuku a random new company called ISIS came out w/ith some that are on there for $599 check them out!

haha i love my dad. he helps me with the engine stuff all the time since i still have alot to learn. and yes my brother is a fag. he just doesnt realize how awesome my car really is and how original his is. did i mention its a AUTO?! what do you know about those coils? thats about the same price as godspeed. which ive heard actually some good things about them. but i still dont think id buy them. im looking for some slightly used coils though. i just dont have enough cash right now. theres so many just regular maintance things ive been buying that really add up.

thats what i thought. it annoys me when people just assume a young kid had mommy and daddy pay for their stuff. i started working at age 14 and so did both my brothers and we all purchased cars at age 14-15. my youngest brother is 15 right now and just bought an s13 recently. good work on everything and i'm really impress with how it all came out compared to where it started. after coils do you have any ideas on power mods such as an engine swap? don't even consider godspeed coils btw. i'm not dumb enough to try em but i've heard too many bad things. tein on the other hand i've only heard good about and from my experience they're nice. i'd look into pbm or stance if i were you.

as for the auto canceling blinkers, yours arent working cuz your hub doesnt have the pegs for it. buy this and you'll be sethttp://www.frsport.com/Splash-....html

yes i know. most people do assume my daddy paid for it. except at my school, spoiled private school kids. but anyway, yea im happy with how it came out. im just stoked to lower it. after that ill probably leave it. ill save for better seats, better exhaust, better brakes, suspension parts, im really not concerned with power for now. this is just a new drivers dd. no need for 250whp. it has enough power to have a little fun on the streets. as for the hub damn i wish i wouldve bought that one! i dont want to spend $60 just so i dont have to flick my finger after turns now thoughis there anyway i can buy just the toggle switches w.e. not the hub too.

no i am not. ill check that out right now. and yea i live real close to strats. i stroll though there everyonce in a while. i get weird looks being 15 though. what days do you meet? maybe ill stop by.
