No, you don't need to worry about rain or water gettig into a engine bay with a vented hood.

Hey Loop, When you get a chance can you post up pics of how the hood looks from the underneath? I'm curious on how you don't have to worry about rain or water getting into the engine bay. Did CC develop some kind of rain channel underneath?

Good point! does the Carbon Creation hood require hood pins too?

Let us know Loop, please Dying to see your coupe all put together. I bet it'll be one baddazz coupe!

The carbon fiber hood and trunk will be available after SEMA. They can also do a group buy and its progressive I believe. The price is a few hundred cheaper than VIS.
dangeris wrote:Good point! does the Carbon Creation hood require hood pins too?
They are not required, but recommended.

Sorry, no pictures yet. But as soon I get the chance too, I will.

When I ment you don't need to worry about water or rain. I was talking about hydrolocking. It will make your engine bay dirtier more than anything.

The design probably not, nut sure as I haven't seen the renderings. I know its on their future plan to make a kit for the sedans.

Updates:

My car being towed to Rotora Inc to get my big brake kit installed. They also confirmed its going to be a 8 piston front and 4 piston rear. Also a teaser pictures of my wheels. Lowering kit will be put on later.

After Rotora has finished putting the big brake kit on, it will be towed to the bodyshop to get the kit installed and painted. It is expected to be done by the 17th(?).

Why shouldnt you worry about hydrolocking? By the look of the hood the vents are right above where an aftermarket intake would be. I can see if it was a stock setup cause stock is all enclosed, but an aftermarket isnt.

BTW... rims look sic! and its a good thing it was a nice day out, towing it with no trunk lid...

Hydrolock involves sucking water rather than air into the intake.

An aftermarket intake won't suck up water (unless it's submerged).

Even in the most hellacious downpour ever, the chance of getting any substantial amount of water THROUGH the hood vents, DIRECTLY ONTO the filter, THROUGH the filter, UP the intake and INTO the cylinders is next to nil.

Seriously, it's a non-issue.

Those wheels look really impressive from far away! I saw the picture of them on the box, but that didn't do the justice until I saw it on the coupe. Mm... I love the gold, but I would love a pair in Grey. :p

Great stuff. It looks really great with the black!

So Hitman..What are you trying to tell us here? jkg

Would you say though, having the vents would make the engine bay a lot more dirtier than normal like Loop said previously?

Vince, those wheels are sex on that coupe. I can't wait for the 17th (hopefully) to see the "total package"

Looking good. Can't wait to see how the big brake kit looks. The wheels are really nice, although not to rain on the parade, but a set of DYMAG wheels would take your car to the next level, Loop. Cast magnesium center with carbon fiber barrel.

Those rims are nice, but it's too flat. They really don't have the GTR concave style. Hardly any rims I see seem to take advantage of that feature that looks really nice on GT-R rims. G35 OEM 18s have it as well.

Haha, I know. If I had the choice, I'd go with the DYMAG's though, but it's not like I can afford either of the two.

My choice would be DPE wheels(baller status) if I wanted to take my car to the next level. They gave me a heck of a deal for SEMA, but there were reasons why I didn't get them. I had to take considerations of my car theme and not sacrafice my big brake kit.

Here is an example of their carbon fiber lip:

Update:Everything is going smoothly with the big brake kit from Rotora. They will be done on Monday(10/13) and I will be picking up the car that day and towing it to the bodyshop to get my body kit installed and painted. Which is expected to be done on 10/17.
